Suckey, Suckey
Welcome back to another episode of The Hella Chisme Podcast.
This week the Red lights on, fangs out, and zero apologies, we’re sinking our teeth into the vampire canon that shaped a generation. From Blade’s day-walking swagger to Buffy’s slayer wit, from True Blood’s bayou heat to The Originals’ royal blood feuds, we trace how immortality stays irresistible even when it stings. Then we head straight into the glittering storm of Twilight, teams picked, love triangles dissected, and the finale twist that had theaters screaming. We revisit the moments that still live rent-free: baseball in a thunderstorm, the Volturi’s velvet menace, that mountain-top tent, and a wedding that turns into a reckoning.
Hit play, then tell us your ride-or-die vampire story, who you’d turn for your coven, and whether the triangle ever had a fair referee. If this journey through the shadows made you grin, subscribe, share with a fellow night owl, and drop a review so more listeners can find our cozy corner of the dark.

Uh, we are in full effect of fall season. Um, but you know, if you know anything about San Diego weather, it loves to let us know that um it's not always fall here. So, you know, one day it'll be fall. The next thing you know, it'll be hot, and we getting some uh some uh I think they call it the Sienna winds, whatever. The winds that are hot and it's 150 degrees all of a sudden. But um yes, it's still the life is still going on. We doing a lot. I'm moving today, not moving nowhere, but it's moving parts today. So uh this episode is gonna be a fun episode. I have a lovely guest. I'm not gonna spend too much time talking with y'all by myself. So um let's take a break and move on to our conversation with our guests. Bye. And we are back. So this week, um, you know it's October, so it is spooky season, and I think for um the last two years, we've for sure have been making sure to kind of do some sort of spooky season episode where we are um either doing like a spooky story or you know, some sort of topic revolving around the fact that it's Halloween and spooky season. So this year we are going to be talking about something that I think we've always kind of been obsessed with. But before we get into that, uh we are gonna welcome back one of our resident guests, uh Lolo.
SPEAKER_06:Hello.
SPEAKER_04:Welcome back. Um you have been on quite a few episodes. Um, I think one of the one of the most recent ones would be the Cowboy, the episodes called Cowboy Brothers, where we talked about uh the Cowboy Carter album when it was just released. Um that was seen so long ago.
SPEAKER_02:But like that gotta be over a year, right?
SPEAKER_04:Uh definitely over a year ago. Um I mean, Cowboy Carter came out a year.
SPEAKER_02:It gotta be because we already gonna have the concert now. Let's see, Cowboy Carter dropped in I want to say like June, July or something.
SPEAKER_04:Oh my god, when did Cowboy Carter come out? Um March. March 29th.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, 2024.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, so yeah, so we are a year ago, so yeah, it was a year ago. That was fast. Um, so yeah, that was when we we uh did an episode together during that time, and uh called the Cowboy Brothers uh episode. So go back and listen to it uh if y'all want to see what we were talking about on that episode. But otherwise, what's been going on? How's things been going? What's the team?
SPEAKER_02:Oh, you know, mama is just out here living life, trying to get this money, honey, you know, day by day, after work, this job, that job, this job, and that job. I work with people all day. I don't like people.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, yeah, I get that.
SPEAKER_02:I get that um but yeah, but that's all just working, you know, having somewhat of a social life these days. Mama been out in these streets a little bit, ready to go get back in the bed, but you know I gotta go outside if I'm gonna meet somebody.
SPEAKER_04:Mama gotta have a life too, Jody.
SPEAKER_02:Okay, ain't that the truth?
SPEAKER_04:You gotta be out here if you wanna, you know, meet you somebody worth worthwhile with. Um if you wanna be enjoying somebody, you know, you gotta you gotta get out there and be social.
SPEAKER_02:Exactly.
SPEAKER_04:Uh so and wasn't it just Oakland Pride?
SPEAKER_02:It was, but I did not go. I was at work that whole weekend. This last couple weeks at work have been nuts. But yeah, I was at work the whole weekend.
SPEAKER_04:People gear enough for those holiday purchases.
SPEAKER_02:That and then just all the other shit. Oh, can I say shit? Oh god, you can say shit.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, yeah. We've said much worse on the show.
SPEAKER_02:I'm like, it's been a while. Oh, but no, not even that. Just like other stuff where like, you know, all the things that play into retail and all the fixings.
SPEAKER_04:Yes, I understand. Um, I mean, it's been it's we're it is October, so we are about to go right into holiday season. And you know, I'm sure the people are already feeling it because you know the people love to celebrate Halloween real fast and they like to go right into Christmas, they skip right over Thanksgiving, and then next thing you know, it's Valentine's Day.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, literally, it's just like there's no in between. They give you five seconds for Christmas, forget about Thanksgiving, and you get a little sprinkle for New Year's, but like you said, it's Valentine's Day.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, yes. Um, well, welcome back. We're gonna have ourselves a nice little yang dang doodle.
SPEAKER_02:Wait, how's your things been going?
SPEAKER_04:Oh, my week. My week has been uh busy. Um as always, you know, it's um it's a lot going on, a lot of moving parts, but trying to push through. I'm gonna be um traveling at the end of the month. I have to go to a work conference. So um I'm just trying to stay afloat, you know, trying to continue working out and um going into doing my little therapy thing, but you know, just doing what I gotta do, essentially.
SPEAKER_02:I need to start working out. I tell myself I'll gonna start a little mock thing until Palm Springs try, but you know I just had a bolinaco, so we'll try again tomorrow.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, child. I feel you. You know, it's like you the you you have to you have to still sometimes feed those cravings. Like you can't just cut yourself off, so they say. But then you're craving. Yes. Then you put yourself on the scale and you like, girl, I thought we was we was trying to get this together. I thought, you know, we were on a we were on a road of the up and up, but you know, it seems like we just be playing games.
SPEAKER_02:I don't have a scale in this house. I just put on a pair of pants, and if they feel wrong, I'm like, oh no. Yeah, we got the we got the uh reroute.
SPEAKER_04:Girl. Um, but yeah, life is still life in, and we just trying to push through. Um, so as I mentioned uh at the top of the uh this segment, uh into the episode, uh it's October, so that means it's spooky season. So, you know, we're gonna talk about vampires. Uh, and there's nothing scarier, sexier, and more delicious than talking about um eternal and um eternal life and immortality that vampires bring to uh I guess you could say pop culture. And um we're gonna get into it. Uh huh. I said in blood sucking. And blood sucking, exactly. Um, so we're gonna get into quite a few different areas from like Blade, Twilight. Um, and I mean you you can't talk about vampires without talking about Twilight. Like it's just there's no way that we can talk about it or we can get into it without diving into that. But we also are gonna talk about, you know, some of the um some of the other series and some of the other movies and shows that we've uh seen. But before we get into that, what are some things that are so appealing about vampires? Why do you think we love people that love vampires so much?
SPEAKER_02:I mean, I think they're just cool, right? But I mean, not all vampires are created equal, you know. Some sparkle and some fly, some daylight rains and some don't, like, you know. I think it depends on the DNA of this vampire that really makes the difference, you know. Some get extra strength, some you can touch and see the whole world, you know. They all got different ones, but you know, I think the immortality thing is probably like the coolest thing. But uh, being able to walk through the day would also be nice.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, you know, that is something that I've always found interesting. It's I guess it's it's because they're supposed to be technically dead, is why they're technically not supposed to walk through the daylight, which if they're immortal, then they I guess they should be. But if you want something that is supposed to actually supposed to kill something that's immortal, I guess the sunlight would be the the object to do it.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:Um, so before we dive in, dive in, uh a fun fact about vampires uh is that they've actually been in pop culture since the 1700s, which if you um if you like see old like paintings and things like even in like the Greek times or like Greek mythology, uh you can see like different paintings of vampires or different um stories that include vampires or immortal demons that uh suck blood and have fangs and things like that. Uh, but over the years, obviously vampires have become super uh, you know, they want them to be dreamy, hot, deadlier, have crazy fangs, more gory and bloody. And, you know, I'm pretty sure if I was ever turned into a vampire, that's kind of what I would be. Definitely the high fashion.
SPEAKER_01:Yes.
SPEAKER_04:Definitely, you know, out there just snatching up whoever I want to be in my little in my little cult. And um, you know, trying to live my life in a full eternity, as as living it up as much as possible.
SPEAKER_01:Yes, indeed.
SPEAKER_04:Um, so let's get into it. So being obsessed with vampires, um, I think you know, you get the perfect mix of dangerous and immortality. But what do you feel is like the most dangerous aspect of vampires?
SPEAKER_02:I don't know, because again, they're they're all so different. I mean, we got some that can flip their humanity switch on and off so they don't care. Like, you know. Again, we have the ones with the special abilities, and then we just think about you know the regular ones, but they can control people's minds and make them think what they want to think, you know, like there's so many things. Um but I think I mean I'll give you honestly, like the best thing about them, and probably the worst thing about them is the immortality.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, because they because I think that's why they um what they feed off of. They feed off the fact that they're immortal and they can do anything and everything. Um, and I think also that's some of the the worst thing about that is because I also feel like continuously you see that because of their immortality, they've grown, they've grown to be kind of um um not resistant, but essentially upset about the fact that they're immortal and they can never die and that somebody kind of took their mortality away. And they can never have a normal life, right, and they can never have a long normal life. But I mean, you know, even though they're scary, they're also sexy at the same time, which is amazing. Um, but we could thank Hollywood for that. And I mean, I think the fantasy of living forever is um and being powerful is always what draws people into, you know, a story about vampires. Um, but I do feel like that there's always some sort of love triangle um that we encounter for the most part when we talk about any type of vampire series or any type of vampire stories, um which, you know, I guess if you were to name your favorite love triangle from all of the vampire things that you've seen, who would be your favorite?
SPEAKER_02:I mean, I can only think of two, maybe three love triangles. Right? I know we had Twilight, Vampire Diaries, um, the original There was the um, but who else? What other one?
SPEAKER_04:So, yeah, there's Twilight, Vampire Diaries, um, Twilight Vampire Diaries. I mean, I guess you could say interview with the vampire had a love triangle. Did you watch you didn't well we'll talk about it?
SPEAKER_02:Um that's the one from Disney Channel, right? Interview, no interview with the date with my mom had the date with the vampire.
SPEAKER_04:The date with the vampire, yeah. Um my god, taking it back.
SPEAKER_02:Oh, interview, that was kind of new, right?
SPEAKER_04:There is the series, it's new, but the older one from 1994, uh, with Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise is that would just be more depending on what time depending on what time the year came out.
SPEAKER_02:But I started watching the series, but I never actually finished it. Just reminding me, I probably need to like to finish it. But I can honestly say if I have to choose between Twilight and Vampire Diaries, uh, they both got on my nerves. Elena and Bella both. Like, I just wanted to fight.
SPEAKER_04:I mean, it just and we'll get into it, but just I do both feel like they both had that uh woe with me. Yes, and like the extra breathing all the time.
SPEAKER_02:I don't know, but you know, I do I am big on a happy ending, and I feel like Twilight had a happy ending and vampire diaries did not, if I remember correctly, because didn't they both end up in the bottom of the water?
SPEAKER_04:Well, Damon and uh or Damon and Stefan ended up killing themselves at the end. Yeah, or was that no, that was the originals.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, Klaus and um and uh Klaus and what was his brother's name? The one you liked. Um all the time. See, I loved Klaus, I would never forget that man's name. Um I have it here's his face in my head.
SPEAKER_04:Klaus and oh the mouth, it's the Michaelsons, but um they didn't put his name. I didn't get his name here.
SPEAKER_02:Oh come on. I know it's hang on.
SPEAKER_04:Um it was Klaus and their sister, Elijah. Oh, I loved Elijah.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, yeah. See, I liked Klaus. I just knew Klaus could be helpful, he just needed the right person to come into his head. Um I say when they get complex. Um I love it. Um but yes, I feel like vampire diriots, I one of them for sure ended up in the bottom of the ocean with a stake in them.
SPEAKER_04:Wow.
SPEAKER_02:Either one or both of them did, and maybe the other one ran off with Elena because she ended up with Damon at the end, I believe. So maybe it was Stefan who ended up staked at the bottom, but I feel like they both ended up down there.
SPEAKER_04:But I thought Damon ended up dead with uh Bonnie because they were like in the in-between for hella long, and Elena was dead.
SPEAKER_02:That was another thing about Band Pride Diaries. They dragged everything on episodes out of episodes. Bonnie was the weakest witch I've ever seen in my life, but was supposed to be the strongest witch. Like did not understand. Now I'm gonna have to go back and watch. I'm gonna just watch the last episode though, because it's too much for himself.
SPEAKER_04:Yes. Um, well, we'll and we can dive in tomorrow as we get into that, into uh the series.
SPEAKER_02:But to um Twilight was the one because it had a happy ending.
SPEAKER_04:Yes, it did have a happy ending. Um, so moving into just thinking about some of the movies, right? So um I don't I know you were a Blade fan. Oh you did like Blade.
SPEAKER_02:Damon became human and reunited with Elena. I think Elena also became human. I think Stefan ended up at the bottom of the um He died. Elena became human? He dies in the pro so Stefan dies in the process, ensuring Damon can have a half-human life with Elena and that Catherine is gone for good. That was the ending? Yes, I remember one of them for sure I knew died.
SPEAKER_04:Now I feel like I gotta go watch this again.
SPEAKER_02:I want to go watch it too, but it's too much.
SPEAKER_04:It is too much. Each of those seasons were like 24 episodes, an hour long.
SPEAKER_02:That's when they don't make seasons how they used to make seasons. They were an hour-long, 20 plus episode commercials, like the ghetto.
SPEAKER_04:The ghetto.
unknown:Okay.
SPEAKER_04:Oh my god.
SPEAKER_02:So yeah, I okay, and I think Elena did drink the potion, so she could kind of turn back into human.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Um, okay, but fast forward back to Blade.
SPEAKER_04:Blade. So Blade um was a groundbreaking uh movie series. So there, because I know they had Blade One, I think it was like all the way to three, um, with West playing Blade. Huh?
SPEAKER_02:One of them is called Blade Trinity.
SPEAKER_04:Probably the first one Blade Trinity, yes, that was the third one. Um, and Blade was a half vampire, half human, which is also an MCU character, which I didn't know at the time that Blade was an MCU character. I actually at the time, I mean, talking about comic books and MCU and DCU wasn't like a huge thing. Um, so I definitely didn't find out that Blade was an MCU character until um now.
SPEAKER_02:I'm Googling MCU. What does that mean?
SPEAKER_04:Marvel Comic Universe.
SPEAKER_06:Awkward, okay.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, child, and DCU is uh DC. Yes.
SPEAKER_02:I just I just never heard people refer to I they used to say Marvel. Like I've never heard it as MCM. Oh, what is it? MCU. MCU.
SPEAKER_04:Yes, child.
SPEAKER_02:Got it.
SPEAKER_04:I like it too. Um, well, because you know I like the you know, we like Spider-Man, we like um what's the mother movie? Spider-Man.
SPEAKER_02:I like Spider-Man, I like X-Men, but X-Men, I think is is that DC X-Men?
SPEAKER_04:No, it's MC. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, I like X-Men, and yeah, but I'm good.
SPEAKER_04:Um, and what was the other ones that we and uh we all like the Avengers, I Love the Hulk, um, you know, all of them. Um but Blade was a Go series, yeah and he was like, he was basically Marvel's first successful superhero movie before the MCU became about, which is what I was mentioning. Um, and apparently without Blade, it would the whole like Avengers story and series wouldn't fully be a thing because he's one of the um the oldest like MCU uh characters. Um but I think uh during the time when Blade was around, I don't think it really I don't necessarily feel like I looked at him as a superhero more than I looked at him just as uh half vampire, half human. Um, but I guess technically he was saving people because he was killing vampires that were killing humans.
SPEAKER_02:Oh, right, because he was a vampire hunter, right?
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, I don't know.
SPEAKER_02:I don't know. I just thought he was, I don't know, a cool action fighter. He was just a cool action fighter. Yeah, I can agree with that. But you know what's so funny? Like thinking back though, like during those times, there was always the people killing the vampires. Like there was always a vampire or something that was killing another vampire or something like that. Like there was Buffy the vampire slayer, there was Blay, who technically was killing the other vampires, but they were kind of like or they were like goblins or something. I don't know. I feel like I need to go watch all this stuff now.
SPEAKER_04:I mean, it's it's spooky season. This is a perfect time to go watch, honey.
SPEAKER_02:Have you seen the conjuring, the new one?
SPEAKER_04:No, but I want to go see it. So actually, I wanted to see um uh I wanted to see Fantastic Four, and I want to go see the new Conjuring because I like the whole conjuring series.
SPEAKER_02:I do too, and I actually found a list. I'll send it on, send it to you about like if you how to watch all the movies and together during the timeline. Um so I want to watch my way through them. Um I think I saw the I saw Fantastic Four. That was actually pretty good too.
SPEAKER_04:I've heard it was good. I actually and we just watched um the Superman movie, which was pretty good, but it wasn't enough. It he wasn't shirtless enough at all. Um, he had too many clothes on as far as I'm concerned through the entire movie.
SPEAKER_02:Is it when did it come out? Is it on Disney first?
SPEAKER_04:Uh not yet. It won't be until November, I don't think.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_04:It's on Apple TV though. Oh um, and then also some other good ones were Dracula 2000, which is was a campy, which was a campy vampire movie, which you did not like. I know you didn't like it.
SPEAKER_02:Oh, I can't even pinpoint like yes, anything from that.
SPEAKER_04:Uh I think that was the one with Morris Chestnut, if I remember correctly. Morse Chestnut, no, not Morris Chestnut.
SPEAKER_02:Was it a movie you liked?
SPEAKER_04:Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_03:It was not you know, your movie takes it.
SPEAKER_04:It was it was the guy from Love and Basketball about Love and Basketball. He was in Dracula 2000.
SPEAKER_02:Sorry, I'm over here googling everything. I need a photo. I'm sorry for my neighbors getting home, y'all.
SPEAKER_04:Let me see the cover art so I can make sure it's the right movie that I'm talking about. But I'm pretty sure it is. Dark print Dracula? No, Dracula 2000.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:Oh this Yeah, see, there he is. There goes whatchamacallit, right there.
SPEAKER_02:I don't know.
SPEAKER_04:From 11 basketball. Maybe I have seen this. You have, you didn't like it.
SPEAKER_00:What did I say about it was stupid?
SPEAKER_02:You know I love the callbook stupid, girl.
SPEAKER_04:Girl, Paris was pissed at me. He hates to see me coming if I'm tired, if I'm about to put on a movie. I put on a movie the other night and he was like, Is you still watching this? And I was like, Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_03:No, you're not. I'll be asleep as hell.
SPEAKER_04:It was so bad. It was a bad movie. He was like, Did you finish watching that movie? I was like, No. Um, another one is Van Helsing, uh, which was with um the guy who played um X uh what's that man's name from X-Men Wolverine? Um oh Jesus, y'all know I don't mean all my actors' names. Look, uh Big Brother listening because Twilight is popping up on my phone.
SPEAKER_01:Listen, Big Brother is always watching and listening.
SPEAKER_04:Wolverine played by uh Hugh Jackman, that's who it was. And he also played is uh Van Helsing.
SPEAKER_02:Um can't pinpoint anything from that either. I I the name sounds familiar though.
SPEAKER_04:So they did a couple adaptations. The one that I'm talking about was from 2004, uh, and it was with like the two girls, they were like uh witches and like little goblins or whatever. Come on, camera, focus. Um and that one was pretty good, and then they did another one, and it had the girl, Kate uh Beckinsell, who ended up is she the same one who played in Underworld? Hold on, let me see.
SPEAKER_01:Another one of your movies. Underworld.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, who ended up playing the main character in Underworld. Um which I'm now that makes me want to go back and watch and see if they tied them together. Because I didn't, I don't think I caught that. Um, but yes, Van Helsing was a good one, was another good one. And then um Interview with the Vampire, which we were talking about earlier with Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise. Uh, and they were they were technically supposed to be a couple, and because in the 90s, you know, homosexuals was so out there they couldn't necessarily talk about it. It was very woo-woo.
SPEAKER_02:Um where's in your ears?
SPEAKER_04:Uh my ears. Oh my God. It's my earbuds, so I can hear you, so it's not loud and it's not echoing.
SPEAKER_06:What happened over there?
SPEAKER_04:Girl, I'm deaf, child. I got me some hearing aids, honey.
SPEAKER_03:Listen, I said some AirPods now.
SPEAKER_02:The new AirPods are supposed to help people be able to hear.
SPEAKER_04:Oh my gosh. They speaking before we jump into the next part, let's take a break and then we'll be right back. And we are back. So, yes, I was at work the other day, and I made sure to watch the Apple event, uh, and to find out that they uh are releasing 17 new 17 iPhones uh this year. And uh I did I did, you know, see the new AirPods, but I've walked away from the AirPod life. I'm sorry. The only ones that I wish they would upgrade is the big ones.
SPEAKER_02:Yes, I okay. I, you know, I never really paid attention to those because I never really wanted any, but then I got to a point where oh I did want them, and I probably must go look and see how much those things cost.
SPEAKER_04:They about$700,$600.
SPEAKER_02:It's a no for me, dog. Not for some headphones.
SPEAKER_04:I mean, they're supposed to be really nice, but the Bows, I think it's either the the Bows or the Sony ones, just they've been winning the reward for uh best headphones for the last two years, I think it is.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_04:Um, so there's better ones. And honestly, um as much as I like the aesthetic of the over-the-ear headphone, and I was actually thinking about this today, like, you know, some days I want to give that, some days that shit is hot. Like, you know, I like them for the airplane because it's actually very uh it creates like it's more sensory, and you know, uh like traveling, I think they'd be good, and mainly for the gym when I start going.
SPEAKER_02:But other than that, I'm like, I would just take an AirPod any other time, but then I'm also just like, how often do I really use any of this now?
SPEAKER_04:Exactly. Exactly. Um, so you know, I mean, to each their own, yeah, right? Like it is what it is. Um, but getting back into uh the shows we were talking about, which was the last thing we were talking about was Interview with the Vampire, which was with Brad Pitt, and now they do have the series which we had mentioned earlier, and then we also can't talk about movies about vampires without mentioning Queen of the Damned, which is one of our faves.
SPEAKER_03:Um, everybody talked so bad about that movie. They do never understood it because I actually like the movie.
SPEAKER_02:I just watched it a couple weeks ago.
SPEAKER_04:I watched it um, I think I watched it last year during Halloween. Uh that's like one of the ones that are in my rotation. Like Queen of the Damned, Hocus Pocus, Hocus Pocus 2.
SPEAKER_02:But Queen of the Damned, Hocus Pocus, I also came out with a couple years ago, maybe like three or four years ago.
SPEAKER_04:Yes, yeah, yeah. It wasn't amazing. But I mean, you know, for for the you fell asleep.
SPEAKER_02:I did. I mean, I was real tired. It was a long day, and it took forever for us to finally start watching the movie. But once we finally started watching it, I fell asleep.
SPEAKER_04:Yes, I mean for the culture, I'll watch it, but it's enough. It's it's you know, yeah. Um, and then we talked about Underworld already, so um, which which is with Kate uh Beck and Cell as Celine with their whole vampire versus uh lichens, which you know, I don't know why they just didn't call them werewolves, why they had to call them lichens, you know. Well, I don't know the terminology.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, we try to be different.
SPEAKER_04:Um, and then we were already talking in the series, in the series segment, we were talking about Buffy Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and then which I loved Buffy. Buffy used to come on during the morning when we were getting ready for school, and I mean I'm pretty sure I saw yes, I'm pretty sure I saw every single episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, it's so funny because I keep saying that is one show that I do want to go back and watch. Um, and I think I might have even started it at one point and I forgot about it. But Buffy was so good, and so was Angel. I don't know if Angel was a vampire or not.
SPEAKER_04:Angel was Angel a vampire, yes, because Angel, I think he came from Buffy, right?
SPEAKER_02:There was like a the stories tied into one another, didn't they?
SPEAKER_04:I think Angel came from Charm. And then let me look it up.
SPEAKER_03:It has to be they used to come on right after each other.
SPEAKER_04:Yes, they did. Um let's see what ties did Buffy and Angel have together. It says Buffy and Angel's relationship began during oh okay, yeah. It began during Buffy the Vampire Slayer, season two, with the first sexual encounter in episode 13. Oh, excuse me.
SPEAKER_00:Surprise!
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, that's what it says. Their relationship continued to develop through Buffy's season two and three before Angel moved to Los Angeles. Oh, and that's what it was, and then that's when he started in his own series. Um, the series Angel ran concurrently with Buffy, yeah, season four, with limited crossovers and final season of Angel occurred after Buffy ended. Okay.
SPEAKER_02:I think they had good theme songs too. They don't make a good theme song like how they used to, but um they definitely don't. I feel like those both had good theme songs, and you know I love the theme song from Charms.
SPEAKER_04:Yes, I mean Charm just it was I would it's so funny.
SPEAKER_02:I was just saying how I was about to restart re-watching Charms because I don't I don't have any like I feel like everybody's on a superhero kick. There's no like vampire or witch shows to watch right now, and I need something to feed that, you know? Um I was disappointed that like what was it, witches from East End?
SPEAKER_04:Uh yes, Eastwick.
SPEAKER_02:Eastwick, that didn't last, which I thought that was a pretty good show.
SPEAKER_04:It did not last, and yes, it was a really good show. I mean, you know, what are we gonna do? Um I think the other thing is that I've been watching um some very good drama. I've been re-watching Scandal. Um you did it, huh? Which I did. I did do it.
SPEAKER_02:I've been trying. Every time it pops up, I'm like, oh Martel, like you just don't like you really about to do this to yourself again.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, I'm doing it to myself. I'm on season, I'm halfway through season three.
SPEAKER_02:Oh, you've been watching.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, it's been a roller coaster. That crazy bitch and that oh that white nigga that she loved to fuck.
SPEAKER_02:Oh I will just tell in, I'll tell you off camera who it was, but I will just tell in uh we were talking about Halloween costumes, and I was gonna be uh Annalise. And then this friend was gonna be Olivia and his boyfriend was gonna be Fitz.
SPEAKER_04:I'm gonna be, I think me and Paris are gonna do podic justice. Oh girl, he's gonna be Janet Jackson and I'm gonna be Tupac. Because I am because I was the mail carrier and he's the hairstylist.
SPEAKER_03:I mean, fair. Fair.
SPEAKER_04:It's not like he's not gonna put on blackface, so all he's gonna do is put on a blocks bay wig and tie his hair up.
SPEAKER_03:I didn't think he was gonna do that, but I was just curious.
SPEAKER_02:I I'm I'm not gonna really be that. Um, I'm trying to figure out my outfits though, because I agree to a lot of things.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, girl, you're gonna be in them streets, ain't you? And then the next weekend we're gonna be in Palm Springs.
SPEAKER_02:Oh, which we need to connect on offline about that, too.
SPEAKER_04:Um, any gay. So we can't talk about vampire series without talking about True Blood, which was a snapshot in time. Uh, True Blood ran from 2008 to 2014. That is over seven years. And I mean, you want to talk about a show that I don't feel like they dragged stories, I think they did dive deep into like methodical methodical creatures and like um different um stories about like demons and uh and and then being in Louisiana where you know uh voodoo is a thing and um ghost stories and things like that, like you know, in the area where um where a lot of the things that they talk about, like people talk about on a daily basis and believe in like you know, the the um the voodoo man and things like that. So uh true blood definitely was a fantastic vampire series for sure.
SPEAKER_02:I felt like my top two favorite was True Blood and the Originals, and you know, normally when you have a spin-off from if in case y'all don't know, original was a spin off from Vampire Diaries. That spin-off was better than Vampire Diaries because again, the originals also kept it going. Like they never slowed down, they didn't drag any storylines. There was no room for let me just put this pillar episode in here. Like they dragged, they did not drag, they kept it going, they kept the storylines pushing and it moved, it wrapped up. There was no, there was never a dull moment, and same thing with Vampire Diaries. I mean, not Vampire Diaries, uh True Blood. There was never a dull moment in True Blood, like that was a good show.
SPEAKER_04:No, it was never a dull moment in any of those.
SPEAKER_02:Um, I it took me a while though to watch the originals, which I somehow, because I remember I feel like no, you I kept telling you, you need to watch this, like this is better than Vampire Diaries.
SPEAKER_04:And I finally did. I think I just that was like, I mean, two or three years ago, yeah, like that. I just watched it and went through the whole thing.
SPEAKER_02:And I finally watched that already. You've recently, yes, or I'm still I might still be in the middle of it, but I've been re-watching it. Like it's one of those background shows that I go back to, but I've definitely like like I there's only five seasons, I think I'm on season three or something.
SPEAKER_04:And it was honestly one of the it lasted quite some time. So vampire diaries went from 2009 to 2017, the originals went from 2013 to 2018, which so then they ran concurrently, which makes sense because um I know they would there were crossover every so often in some of the episodes uh during that time, and then you had the legacies, which I know you have feelings, like that and that only lasted they ended vampire diaries and original just so they can have legacies, right?
SPEAKER_02:They I remember that being a story, like yes, it was just like Hope was supposed to be this baddie, she was part witch part werewolf, part vampire like she should have been her father's daughter and should have been running shit, and it was a bunch of hookla.
SPEAKER_04:Right, and she wasn't, she wasn't. I mean, I never watched it because I've y'all said it was so bad, but that one ran from 2018 to 2022.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, because I think it ended during the Rider Strike and during COVID and all that stuff.
SPEAKER_04:I think some of yeah, I mean, you know, so we've had our share of like fantastic vampire shows and series and movies, and um I think you know Hollywood has done a great job of making them cute, making them hot, and making them making us sweat a little bit on the other end. Um, but of course, as I mentioned in the beginning, there is no vampire conversation if we're not talking about Twilight. Yeah, and we're gonna spend our time here probably a little bit because Twilight the Twilight saga was an era. It was to say the least.
SPEAKER_02:Like, yeah, it's so funny because I think most people would be so offended by us talking about Twilight because there was definitely a crowd that hated it, and there's definitely a crowd that loved it. Um mainly because they were like, they sparkle in the sun, like and they didn't have fangs, they didn't have fangs, they sparkled in the sun, like people were like, What the hell is this? But the girl is who was in it was in it, and I was in it.
SPEAKER_04:I was in it too, you know. I so Twilight started when I was in my last year of high school, it sure did because it started my year, and I remember reading Jackie's book. Uh the twilight, I remember reading Jackie's Twilight book. I read, I read um Twilight and I read New Moon, I think. Um, and those were the only two I read. And in retrospect, now I would go back and read them because I've been wanting to go back now that I we have audiobooks and that we can, you know, do both. I've been I've been doing a lot of reading along with my audiobook um because some of the audiobooks are audio produced and it gives you kind of like it has like a whole methodical like sound and and um and uh uh things, actions behind everything that they're saying and doing and all the things. So um I wanted to go back and read Harry Potter, but I'm not giving RL Stein none of my money.
SPEAKER_02:What she did?
SPEAKER_04:She's she's a uh come on, camera. She's a um, she's a fucking uh she's transphobic, damn near homophobic. And I'm just like, girl, you're you helped homosexuals and transgender people find their lives through the stories you were telling with Harry Potter, and now you are you are essentially talking shit and degrading your entire fan base.
SPEAKER_01:Wow, interesting.
SPEAKER_04:Um I mean I didn't mean R.L. Stein, I mean J.K. Rowling. R.L. Stein is probably like, hey, how did I catch astray?
SPEAKER_02:How did I get involved in this?
SPEAKER_04:How did I get involved in this? Yeah, J.K. Rowling is who I meant. Um, but yeah, I just I've been looking for a book to go back and read or a series to go back and read, and that's one. One of the other ones that I do want to go back and read is also the Heartstoppers one because they're they have graphic novels. Um and all of the audios for graphic novels are super produced too, which is pretty cool. It's like puts you in the world of it.
SPEAKER_02:Heartstoppers is the one on Netflix, right? Yes, I love Heartstoppers. Oh, that was the thing.
SPEAKER_04:So wait, what were you saying?
SPEAKER_02:I said, I love Heartstoppers. I love the boyfriend.
SPEAKER_04:Yes.
SPEAKER_02:I can't think of it. One with the muscles, the Twonk.
SPEAKER_04:Yes, yes. Um, so Twilight. So Twilight was doing our late 2000s. It was a phenomenon with uh our folks that were Team Edward and Teen Jacob.
SPEAKER_02:Uh we had I was Team Emmett. I don't know, that is Team Mattered, but Emmett was.
SPEAKER_04:I mean, because Emmett was a very understated character.
SPEAKER_02:He was, and but I and I always wanted to hear more about his story, which they they were only selective about which stories we got in the movie, but in the books we got everybody's whole story. But I don't know that we ever got Emmet's whole story.
SPEAKER_04:Well, I also don't feel like they had him undressed a lot enough.
SPEAKER_02:No, they didn't. I he I feel like like he said, Emmet didn't really get much. Like we got into we got into Alice. Alice was a main, like she was a main or main girl. We got into Josh's story because his story was needed to for the number four. Absolutely loved, loved what was her name. Rosalie story.
SPEAKER_04:Rosalie story.
SPEAKER_02:Um and then we know the dad. We kind of did we I mean we got Edwards. Did we get the moms?
SPEAKER_04:I don't remember. I think I think they glazed over it.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, I don't think we ever so herds and Emmett, we never got, I don't think.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, I don't think either. I mean they I think they told some of it, and I think the book, the book, I think I if I remember correctly, talked a little bit about it, but I don't think they dived deep into the story in the way that you know we would have liked to to hear them dive into it.
SPEAKER_02:I would love to do this. They did like a now version and we just get everybody's story and then it it ends with the start of Twilight. That that would be so cool. And I also just want to know what's happening, what little Burnett's made right now.
SPEAKER_04:Well, I know that so there has been a lot of um a lot of fake trailers, like fan-made trailers that have been coming out that they're gonna I they've been alluding to trying to bring back uh Twilight, um, which they did say when they uh when they wrapped the series that they would come back in a couple of years when Nesme was older. But you know, we don't know how true that is currently.
SPEAKER_02:Okay, sorry, I digress.
SPEAKER_04:No, you're fine, we're on the right path. Um, so the first Twilight was in 2020, it was in 2008. Uh so that's where it all begins. So Bella Swan moved to Forks, Washington, and she met the mysterious Edward Collins while they were at school. Uh and then this is when they all, you know, come to the school. Edward sees Bella in the cafeteria, and there that weird ass fan blows in Bella's hair. And that's how in the book, when they describe Edward smells and gets a scent of Bella, and you know, he starts acting all like he he smells something like he's about to throw up or something, and essentially it's because she smells so amazing. Um, and then the basketball scene where they um what happened in the basketball scene?
SPEAKER_02:I mean volley wasn't it volleyball.
SPEAKER_04:It's I'm like, what? The basketball scene is the basketball scene when volleyball, I don't remember their I the only balls I remember.
SPEAKER_06:What balls do you remember?
SPEAKER_02:I'm like I remember there was a volleyball for sure.
SPEAKER_00:Who played volleyball? Was it that little white girl?
SPEAKER_02:It was her and the boy who liked Bella originally, but then he told her to the black boy. No, the other white boy. He liked Bella originally, but then he ended up going out with a friend.
SPEAKER_04:You know, I wanted more from that black boy that was in that movie. The one with the pretty eyes, who's like, I'm sorry, Bella, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, Bella. Who oh, yeah, who yes, who who almost killed her, who almost killed her and knocked her into next week. He had no powers, he didn't matter. I know, but I wanted them to turn him into a vampire because I felt like he would have been sexy, like you know, a little six-pack, curly hair, they could have gave him a fade of something, you know, nigga pyre or something like that. I don't know. A what nigga pyre like a nigga vampire?
SPEAKER_02:Can you just say that again when we finish?
SPEAKER_04:Nigga Pyre.
SPEAKER_02:So I can remember to tell you something else from this Tyler. Because when she said it, I said, Oh, Tyler was out here acting my whole ass right now shit.
SPEAKER_04:Girl, because isn't he always?
SPEAKER_02:I mean, cuz isn't he always, but they are they are on a roll, okay?
SPEAKER_04:I think we're gonna have to just I think you and I in Paris should just do a whole recap of Beauty in Black and just start the trend.
SPEAKER_02:I'm down.
SPEAKER_04:I think we should just start the trend.
SPEAKER_02:I am so down. Um, because the show is is uh I mean the biggest great bowl of trash television that I could find, and I love every single bit of it. Like I can turn it off when I tell you that I have sat here the last five hours before I got on this call. Like I've knocked out, I was almost in a panic. Well, it has it's been three hours. I'm on episode four, and I was like, oh my god, wait, I know they only give us half the season, and then I started panicking because I was already on episode four. And I'm like, if it's only four episodes, because I couldn't remember how many they gave, I'm gonna be devastated, but I got eight episodes, so I'm halfway through the eight hours.
SPEAKER_04:The first half is eight episodes, and then they give you another eight, yeah. Oh, he's got 16 this time.
SPEAKER_02:Last one was 16 too. He just split it, he split it up.
SPEAKER_04:Oh well, yeah. So we'll plant. We're gonna have to rewatch from the beginning then.
SPEAKER_02:Oh, I remember.
SPEAKER_04:And then, well, I'm gonna rewatch from the beginning, yes, and then we'll come back.
SPEAKER_02:Well, it would have to be. I mean, I guess we could do we can either do two parts, we can recap after the first eight episodes, or we can wait for the whole season two to come out and then recap.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, we're gonna wait for the whole season two and then we're gonna recap and get into it. Um any gang. So we digress, but so the first uh Twilight movie, you know, was all about um Edward, Bella falling in love. Bella falls in love with Edward. Edward leaves Bella and thinks she should go away, but that was more in New Moon that he goes away. But essentially he's trying to push her away. They go play baseball, the blackie and the whites come with uh the vampire crew. Listen, we're not gonna be doing this, okay? The black vampire with the dreadlocks, Victoria Laurent, Laurent and James.
SPEAKER_02:James, okay. Let's use names, please.
SPEAKER_04:Guess who the James was?
SPEAKER_02:The white boy.
SPEAKER_04:No, that's not who died, was it?
SPEAKER_02:The white boy died.
SPEAKER_04:Was James the white boy? I think I died.
SPEAKER_02:No, Laurent he came to next season. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:No, because he doesn't make he doesn't come back, but the girl stays, Victoria, but they change her through the series.
SPEAKER_02:Oh, yes, yes.
SPEAKER_04:Uh, and then they kill James, and she's upset because that was her man. Now on to New Moon, which, you know, shout out to uh The Twilight and the series because they brought they put out a movie every single year.
SPEAKER_02:Literally, like every year of high school was I knew there was a new Twilight movie coming out, and I remember it being like, guys, there's a midnight premiere.
SPEAKER_03:Oh, you know you got school in the morning.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, yeah, I got here because all my friends is going, okay. And I mean, the theaters will be packed, and it would be multiple, like you remember how big Brendan was. Multiple people playing the exact same movie, and literally, when I tell you half of Mount Diablo was in that thing, mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_04:Everybody, ladies and gentlemen, that's the high school we went to.
SPEAKER_02:Yes, and I'm like, my friend group was at least 20 deep every single time.
SPEAKER_04:And I mean, either we were going to Brendan or we were going to AEMC with Jackie and Jalen to go watch it. And I mean, we couldn't get Jalen to go watch it until I think he didn't watch until New Moon until Jacob got fine.
SPEAKER_03:Are you sure he watched?
SPEAKER_04:Yes, he watched. He didn't watch until Jacob got hot and got muscles.
SPEAKER_02:I don't know he ever watched that movie.
SPEAKER_04:Text him right now and ask him if he ever watched Twilight. Uh, while you text him, but so the next movie was New Moon.
SPEAKER_01:Uh was the worst one.
SPEAKER_04:And the funny part is right here it says the most emo of the bunch.
SPEAKER_02:Yes, because she literally was just whooping and hollering and crying the whole movie.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, that's right. Because this was the one where Edward leaves Bella for her own safety. Because at the beginning of the movie, it was Bella's birthday. And this whole movie, she was obsessing about age and she was obsessing about getting older, which was essentially her project, not projecting, but her um her essentially wanting to become a vampire because she knew there was a way for her not to get old or to grow.
SPEAKER_02:Because I feel like by that growing older, Edward had also told her that he would have to leave her at some point.
SPEAKER_04:Well, he told he didn't he didn't tell her he would have to leave her at some point necessarily that he would. Wanted to leave her, he was telling her that he needed to keep her safe because of everything that happened in the first movie.
SPEAKER_02:Yes.
SPEAKER_04:Exactly. Exactly. So then so then the whole birthday party thing happened, and um and then she cut herself because uh what's that man's name? Jeremy Jasper. Jasper tried to eat her face off because her she cut herself on the glass bowl, and Jasper was still new as a vampire, and so you know he needed to, he was he was hungry. So he was about to um he was about to take her out, and so uh uh what's Allison? Alice. Alice knocked knocked Bella into the the table and she cut herself up, and that's what happened.
SPEAKER_02:You know, I re I can't wait. You know, I rewatch it every fall. As soon as the rain hit the ground, and I know I'm about to have me a nice cold rainy overcast day. I'm having a part of that marathon every single year.
SPEAKER_04:I mean, as you should, because it's just good, it's just good to watch. It is, it is true, it's just good TV, you know. I mean, there's no way you can get through the winter and fall months of uh of the year without having and or watching Twilight, you know what I'm saying? Like it's just good. Um, so then after that one is eclipse, and eclipse is where the love triangle peaks between Bella and Jacob, and this is where uh Bella and Edward get married in this uh this one. Um, and Jacob that's breaking down part one. Oh no, that's breaking down part one. That's right. Uh so this, so then I guess at the end of New Moon. Oh no, it is okay. That's right. So at the beginning of New Moon, uh, Jacob, that's where he starts with his abs, and he's working on the motorcycle. Him and Bella work on the motorcycle together, and that's how that all starts, and then that's where their relationship starts to build in New Moon. And then um, that's also where we start to see the Votori uh in that one, and then in the oh, that's what it is. He goes to fucking Spain during the the whatchamacallit, they had like a festival, and he was gonna go out himself in the middle of the and this bitch. This that's right, that's right. I remember being annoyed about this then. This bitch left the country, said something stupid to her daddy, and had Alice driving through Spain in her red Ferrari, and she went to go save Captain Savajo and went to go and capture this motherfucker because he's about to show his sparkly pussy in the middle of Spain and get killed.
SPEAKER_02:That's what was about to happen, and that's how the whole Votori got in, even got involved.
SPEAKER_04:He got involved, yes, his fault.
SPEAKER_02:That's right, because sister, I'm not good for you, but now I'm about to bring the Votori involved because I won't kill myself because that's right.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, that's right, that's right, that's right. That's what happened. I remember, I do remember this now. Yes, it is very, very clear in my head. Um, and that is how the movie ended was with the Votori because they said, because uh the man, the one with the scary eyes and the long hair touched her face and was like, Oh, I see it. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. Uh-huh. That's what happened. Um. And then we have the final two-part series. Um, but before we get into that, we're gonna take a break and we will come back to wrap up the rest of this segment. Bye. Hey y'all, if you like what you heard, make sure you join the conversation. Um, so we left off, we're gonna break get into breaking dawn, but we were talking and recapping kind of the new moon into the eclipse, which was in 2010. Uh and eclipse was when the triangle, the love triangle between Jacob and Edward kind of really, really started to uh take a turn or to heighten, I guess you can say. Um, and Bella at this point was feeling like she had to choose between Edward and Jacob. And then um, in meanwhile, the newborns were causing all kind of wreaking havoc over, I guess, I guess you could say their universe. Yes, the Victoria girl.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:She was creating an army. She was creating an army of newborns.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah. Was that the same? That's the same one where they go to the top of the mountain, right? And Bella has to sleep in a tent.
SPEAKER_04:Yes, in the freezing cold, and it's like snowing, and uh Jacobs is shirtless the entire time. He's warm and he because he's so warm, because his muscles are so hot. I mean, it's almost like a double entendre. Um, and then this movie gave did have like an iconic scene with Edward and Jacob fighting over Bella. And um it was also just, you know, it was a lot of that love triangle that we were talking about earlier when we were talking about, you know, the different love triangles and the different um what was like our favorites. I mean, honestly, if you ask me, my favorite love triangle was Stefan Damon and Matt, with a little bit of uh with a little bit Stefan Damon and Matt.
SPEAKER_06:Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_04:Matt was who turned into the police officer who used to date with Caroline. Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_02:But I'm like Stephine dated Damon, right?
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, she dated both of them.
SPEAKER_02:Caroline dated Stefan.
SPEAKER_04:Caroline, Carol, they were, I feel like they were trying to push a little bit of a love interest with Caroline and Stefan, because that's why they were um, I feel like they were they weren't necessarily overtly saying that they were together or trying to date, or but they were definitely like trying to do a little something with them. And I don't, you know, but Matt was hot, and Matt was really fucking hot, and he wasn't shirtless enough either. And I'm just like, take your clothes off. Who cares about the daddy bodies? Tyler, everybody loved Tyler. Tyler Lockwood Tyler gave me that he was a little musty sometimes, but he was also whiny, like he whined a lot. To be a werewolf, yeah.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, okay, yeah, I feel about a bitch made nigga, and I feel like Tyler was a bitch made nigga.
SPEAKER_04:Let's all nod. That's right. You know, I talk about this on the show a lot.
SPEAKER_03:Yes, can we talk about an episode talking about niggas?
SPEAKER_04:Yes, we can because there's nobody else to talk about it with. But girl.
SPEAKER_02:I just don't understand it.
SPEAKER_04:Matter of fact, I think that's one of the episodes that we have planned. Anyway, we digress. Um, so from there, breaking dawn part one in 2011. And this is where the wedding happens. This is also where we get to see the first, we're not necessarily the first sex scene, but it is the first kind of sex scene on camera of uh Edward and Bella. And this is like the most sexual the series, this movie series has been through the entire franchise. Um, and they go on their honeymoon in Brazil, and Bella is pregnant and gets pregnant, and where she nearly dies. Um, and this is also at the end, the very, very end where Baby Rennesme is born in change.
SPEAKER_02:Like, I remember being in the movie theater, okay.
SPEAKER_04:Oh, yes.
SPEAKER_02:I had to use the bathroom, number one, so bad. Yes. Bella is on the table, she's dead. She's dead. Resme is born. I'm about to peel myself because I've been holding it probably since the movie started. And like I remember running out of the movie theater and I ran into another friend who was at a different at a different showing screen inside the movie, and she was like, What part are you at? And I told her, and she was like, Go back in. And I literally just remember standing there at the you know the little thing where you walk up to go in. Yes, I remember just standing there watching it, about to like peel myself because I was trying not to catch the end, and mama opened those eyes.
SPEAKER_04:That hair started to get that color, color, yes, yes, and that body started to perk back up, huh? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, it was a it was a moment, and I mean, and then she opened her eyes, and you know, and at the same time, she's coming back alive, and Jacob's imprinting on her brand new daughter.
SPEAKER_02:She nicknamed her baby after the lock this month, Nessie.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, Nessie.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah, that was something.
SPEAKER_04:So it was definitely something, but it was a it just was a time, it was a time, and you know, and it didn't stop there because after that entire movie and that entire moment, then came the grand finale of the entire series, which was breaking down part two, baby, where where they tried to give everybody heart attacks.
SPEAKER_02:I mean, when I tell you, I was open-mouth screaming at the movie theater. Yes, yeah, yeah. Because it's probably the same who did it for me. Who when who died? Did you just gasp?
SPEAKER_04:Um, uh, Edward.
SPEAKER_03:When Edward died. The dad? When they chopped his head off, I literally like I like out loud screamed.
SPEAKER_04:No, when Edward died, I was I was like floored. They took they they like crushed his head and took it off.
SPEAKER_02:Like, that's when Bella started, she was like, Oh, yeah, y'all don't give a man, damn. Yes, it was for me when the daddy died, and they turned around his eyes were like, like you can tell, like you know, they almost kind of had like the static like effect to it, and it was like you can see the life going out of his eyes.
SPEAKER_04:I was like, Oh no, yeah, girl, not the daddy. It was they, I think they did that, it was a fantastic way to end the show in the series. Um, I think for a lot of fans who watched um Twilight and watched Vampire Diaries, I think Twilight's ending was what they wanted from Vampire Diaries uh at the time because a lot of them were overlapping.
SPEAKER_02:I mean, I mean they were like vampire witch galore at that time, like everyone, and then I just like it just came to a complete halt, and I'm like, I need it back.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, yeah. I mean, it ended in 2020, 2012, the original started in 2013, Vampire Dies was still going. Um, and you know, it was it was a time, it was a snapshot in time. TV was great back then. TV was great back then.
SPEAKER_02:I mean You know what what else was running during that time was Pretty Little Liars, and that was my show. You know, I love doing some pretty little liars. I tried to bring it back. They tried twice, which the second time was actually pretty good. The HBO one. Actually, I wonder if that's coming back. Um, that one was actually pretty good, but the other one that they tried to do was not good. Yeah, the one when it was like the same cast, but they were like older or something. Like they tried a few different things. They had the spinoff, which I didn't I never watched.
SPEAKER_04:Um Ravenswood or something like that.
SPEAKER_02:Yes, Raven's Wood. And then they had um they had Pretty Little Liars the Perfectionist. I don't know if that's the is that the one that is Yeah, they only did one season of that, and that one was not really good, but then there was the H suite of Pretty Little Liars. Yeah, I didn't like that. But of Pretty Little Liars Original Sin, that one was good. Now I wonder if that's coming back. They had two seasons of that.
SPEAKER_04:And one of the girls was pregnant, right? And then Yeah, that one was a good show.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, they canceled it. Oh, that sucks. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:Um but yeah. Well, I think we definitely had ourselves a good chunk of different shows. Do you think vampires and witches and those type of movies and series will come back and become a thing again?
SPEAKER_02:I'm sure I mean I feel like everything comes full circle, so I'm sure that it will. I just needed to start. Like, I'm so tired of the superhero movies. I'm sorry, but I'm over it.
SPEAKER_05:You're over the superhero, yeah.
SPEAKER_02:I've never really been a big superhero fan anyway. Um yeah, I'm just waiting for the the vampire with rotation to get going again. Because like even the werewolf, like I feel like we only really have what do we have? Teen Wolf. And what other werewolf shows did we have?
SPEAKER_04:Teen Wolf, which I started to try and watch.
SPEAKER_03:You didn't watch Teen Wolf when I was watching it? What?
SPEAKER_04:Why not? It wasn't a good show.
SPEAKER_02:I mean, they couldn't act, but that was okay, and that one boy chin was a boy's face was but he was so hot.
SPEAKER_04:What's he? He's like a he's I think he's bisexual too.
SPEAKER_02:There were actually a few uh people on the cast that was uh part of the LGBT community.
SPEAKER_03:One of the the twins.
SPEAKER_04:Oh yeah. Uh-huh. There were they put out a movie. I I remember I texted you guys to ask if y'all watched that movie that you care about. Yes.
SPEAKER_02:I I couldn't get and I think my biggest problem with it was that I believed that my favorite wasn't in the movie.
SPEAKER_04:The one that died that they kept talking about. Um let me see. Because they the the first like the whole first 30 minutes of the show, they talked about like some person that died the entire time. And I just was like, I mean, are we gonna go find this bitch or what? Because everybody else be bringing hoes back.
SPEAKER_02:I feel like, um, who was the boy that was my favorite? Why can't I remember his name? Uh his best friend. I feel like he wasn't in it. Who was that boy looking so funny? Styles. I feel like Styles wasn't in the movie. I don't think he was like that was the main reason why I never watched it, was because that was mad that Styles wasn't in the movie.
SPEAKER_04:Styles is the other guy though, the one the one with the short hair guy, the best friend or whatever? Yes. Oh, okay. Um, while you look that up, um just wrapping things up. If you were a vampire, who would you turn into who would be in your crew?
SPEAKER_02:Oh, I'm turning everybody. I've always said that. Like, if you want me to take you out, I'll take you out later, but like I'm selfish, I'm sorry. You're all coming.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah. I get that.
SPEAKER_02:Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:I get that. I mean, I think I would say the same.
SPEAKER_02:Um maybe we'll have a stake. So when people get on our nerves, we can just stake them and bring them back later.
SPEAKER_04:And bring them back later. Yeah, that sounds fine. You know, if we can do some time traveling, but you know, I'm like, I'm assuming if there's vampires, there's also some sort of time traveling, maybe.
SPEAKER_02:There gotta be something.
SPEAKER_04:You know, there has to be something we can do.
SPEAKER_02:We can't have one without the other.
SPEAKER_04:I agree, I agree. Well, um, let's take our final break and then I will come back and wrap up the show. Bye. And we are back. So I hope you enjoyed our vampire talk. And, you know, in lieu of spooky season, um, vampires are always fun. Spooky season is always fun. I even did my little red light in the back, it looks more pink, but um, you know, hopefully you like it. Um, if you've been following the Hella Cheese podcast on social media, which you should be if you're listening to the show, uh, you know I got some new decks for us to play with. So this is one. So this one is the what's gossip, what's the gossip or what's gossip oracle card deck. I have the um prosperity mantra deck, which is by Destiny Taylor and Kat Willett, which, if you've been listening to the show for a long time, you know that I've also had their golden mantra deck. So we'll be uh playing a little bit with this one as well. And then I got another one called the Goddess Oracle deck. Um, this one does not say who it's by on the box, but my goal is to use these two together because they do different things and they have different elements to them. So my goal is to use these two together, and then when I just want to give some affirmations, we're gonna pull out the prosperity watch this one. But today we're just gonna do one before we head out of here. Um, I really want to play with the uh the what's the gossip deck because I just want to see kind of what's it giving. Uh, it looks like a pretty fun, they have pretty fun, pretty cool artwork on the outsides of them and the insides. So we're just gonna pull a card and see what it gives. Before we wrap up uh the show while we're wrapping up the show. Um, you know that if you've been listening for a while, you know that we always do some sort of um tarot or astrology reading horoscope or something before the end. Um and we're gonna continue that. So I pulled one. Uh, this is the glow-up card. And if you're watching, you can see the card. So it says self-improvement, finding your confidence, personal transformations, personal transformation better than ever. So to me, that's you know, letting yourself know that it's always important to have some sort of self-improvement, which leads to a glow-up. Um, and finding your confidence definitely helps lead to uh glowing up in some way, shape, or form, no matter what you're going through. Confidence is always important as you um move and navigate through life, and then personal transformation, which is doing the work. So, you know, if you need to go to therapy, if you need to um talk to someone other than uh other than who you're talking to, and you need a little bit more assistance, that's probably important. Um, and that will get you to the space that maybe that you're looking to be in. Um yeah, so this week, focus on your glow up, focus on uh the things that you need to do in order to get to the space that you want to be in. And thank you so much, and we'll see you next time.
