My name is dana and I'm Dana the Freaky Friday.

Speaker 2:

the roles have flipped.

Speaker 1:

The roles have flipped Well and we are your host. Welcome back.

Speaker 2:

Oh my gosh, good morning. How are you doing? What's going on? Happy Friday we are back on another Friday. What's been going on? How you know, my sports mom life and I've been doing a lot of spring cleaning. Still, I feel like my kids kind of have grown a little bit into a new size. So just like getting rid of stuff from my house, like my garage, like just clearing everything out, um, yeah and I feel like that makes space for like new and, like you know, just cleansed energy and stuff.

Speaker 2:

Um, so I've definitely been doing that. Easter was super cute with. I got to see a lot of my family, almost everybody. That was really nice to have all our kids together and just see my cousins and my aunts and uncles and stuff, yeah, and then it was my dad's birthday yesterday, so we'll be going out to dinner this weekend going out to dinner this weekend.

Speaker 2:

My son did a home run derby and hit 18 home runs in two minutes, which was really cool. He was very proud of himself. And yeah, maya's in her gymnastics girly pop era with her sparkly leotards, her sparkly dinosaur leotards, her sparkly dinosaur leotards. And, um, yeah, I've been like going to the gym again, like because I stopped for like a week or two, um, because my routine had gotten thrown off, and now she's back to it that's good.

Speaker 1:

That's good. I mean, I think um talking let's talk a little bit about routines getting thrown off. It was yesterday. I was um thinking about the fact it's april, so we're four months into the year, um almost five well, this is.

Speaker 2:

By the time this airs, it's May Um.

Speaker 1:

Is it Hold on? Let me no, because the 30th is on a Wednesday. So, oh, yes, I guess. So yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Okay, that would be correct.

Speaker 1:

Time is flying. Time is definitely flying. It's been a journey. We know that the world is not just a little bit of a dumpster fire, but is a complete dumpster fire right now, with all the things going on and everybody's aware and knows it.

Speaker 2:

We're going to dive into that today.

Speaker 1:

We're going to dive into a little bit of that today. Yes, we are, but me, I've been working as well. Just I've been in a space of organizing my things that I have to do and but I'm just not doing it today. It's going to have to wait until tomorrow. I've been trying to prioritize making sure that I'm taking care of my peace and self before putting anything else before that or ahead of that. So kind of in that same you know, making sure I'm just taking care of me and doing things that need to be done, but when I feel like doing them, for the most part, especially with, you know, with work is continuously busy, so on the days that I don't have to do work, then I'm trying to make sure that I'm not having to do too much.

Speaker 1:

yeah and then. Yes, last week was Easter. We had ourselves a nice, lovely Easter last week. We had a bunch of people here, we had a bunch of food and it was a good time.

Speaker 2:

Where did you sip on so much wine?

Speaker 1:

Yes, I did. I have been back, not back drinking I guess I shouldn't say that sounds bad, but I have been. I did have me some wine that day. Say that sounds bad, but I have been. I did have me some wine that day and I've been back. I've been able to now just be like you know, create a different. You know I'll have a glass of wine here or there, or you know, whereas I felt like at one point I'm like everything deserves a glass of wine, let's have one right now.

Speaker 2:

Right, that gets more in moderation now.

Speaker 1:

Yes, Now it's more in moderation, but also because I am on a. I'm in a journey of lifestyle change, as my doctor would say, because I am making sure and working on getting some pound LBs down, which I've always talked about. But I'm more serious about it right now and hoping to continue to be serious about it because I need to make it happen.

Speaker 3:

I need to make it happen.

Speaker 1:

But so definitely drinking in moderation, which is important, and making sure that I'm drinking more water than alcohol. I also just bought a new juicer, oh, and I'm excited to use that today. And yeah, just changing, changing things, moving into a new era of life. I am also a couple months from my 35th birthday, so I think I felt I've been feeling like I've been transitioning into a new era already, and so I think it's just moving forward.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I'll be when this airs. I'll be 34 next week, right.

Speaker 1:

Oh, that's right. Yeah, that following Friday. Tourist season is touristing.

Speaker 2:

The tourists are touristing, shout out to my fellow bulls.

Speaker 1:

So what are you back at the gym that you usually go to, or are you at a different gym? I was just having a conversation about gym memberships the other day. Tell us all about it.

Speaker 2:

Yes, I'm back to my regular gym, but I have been looking into like a hot yoga studio. I kind of want to try yoga. I have been talking. You know, one of my like New Year's resolutions or goals was to be more flexible and work on like my flexibility this year. So I feel like yoga, just like falls right there. And it works out like your whole body, your flexibility and your stretching. You know so, and it's a good workout. Yeah, it's a good workout, for sure.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

That's good. I mean, I've been thinking about doing Pilates Because they said I've been told that it will help with my back and it helps with like core strength and any like and building up core strength and it's just good with like flexibility. So I've been thinking about pilates. I haven't looked into it just yet, but I do follow these guys. I think they're called the kings of pilates or something like that pilates kings on tiktok. So I've been thinking about going and see if I can get into a little Pilates.

Speaker 2:

You're going to be in your Okay, you're going to be in your Real Housewives of San Diego era.

Speaker 1:

I guess so With your.

Speaker 2:

Lululemon? No, maybe not Lululemon, but your little leggings and your.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, my tights, but I like the shorts. I like the shorts with the tights that are lined in them. Like I have a couple of pair of those. Those ones are nice.

Speaker 1:

Mm-hmm, they're comfortable so yeah, yes, and they're comfortable. So we'll see how that goes, we'll see. I'll probably start looking into it in the next couple of weeks or so see if I can get like a package or something for some classes. Because the thing is, I don't, I'm trying to, I'm trying to. I want to do something different than traditional working, like the traditional working out, lifting weights and all of that like.

Speaker 1:

I'm just like, and I don't really want to go to a full-on gym. I like I want to go somewhere where it's like controlled, it's like a smaller class, you know, more intimate and more intimate. Yes, you know, I don't want to be bothered with a whole bunch of people waiting for them to finish. They say, and then I got to start my set 15 minutes later and then we in here for two hours and the next thing, you know, minutes later, and then we get here for two hours and the next thing you know is four o'clock and my whole day is gone because I done wasted here at this jam, so I ordered some new headphones really what kind?

Speaker 2:

um, so usually I use like the airpods, but, um, like, I feel like either I always lose one or I don't charge it enough, or like one of them, like the speaker, sometimes it's like crackly. So I got like the over, like the on-ear, like over-the-head on-the-ear headphones, jbl. Yes, these are oh yeah, yeah, these buds are JBL. Yes, these are.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, yeah these buds are JBL. Do you like them? Are they good quality sound? I, yes, I do like them. I like them a lot, I actually. So I have a pair. I have a pair for here and I have a pair at work. The ones at work are neon green, but they cuff over the ear.

Speaker 2:

Oh, that's good.

Speaker 1:

So those are okay. And then I actually have another pair of these ones called Raycon, that I have. And those are their buds too, and they're like this nice green color. So I had decided a week, a month ago, that I was just done buying AirPods. I was like they don't stay in the ear. It's just $270 a pop, it's fine.

Speaker 2:

That's where I'm at. And then you know like, yeah, it's just too, that's what I I was where I'm at. And then you know like, yeah, it's just too much. Um, yeah, and I um also feel like, so I was going to get beats, but I'm like, okay, well, jbl is a good speaker brand, right, like everybody buys like, well, they're JBL speakers or whatever. So I'm like, so the sound is obviously good quality, you know. So I was like, well, let me try these out. So I should be getting them today. So I'll have an update next time we record. I got white and they're like, I think, matte white and they're like a slim with a little head thing. They look cute.

Speaker 1:

Okay, I think I've seen them before, and I'm sure I mean. Jbl makes good products, so I'm sure it's going to be good.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

And they were only 50 bucks Ooh, that's a good price.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, the Beats are like 120. And then they have to like. If you want to answer a phone call, it has a little microphone and everything so like the AirPods, yeah yeah.

Speaker 1:

One other thing I got my TWIC card now so I am able to access marine terminals. I have full security access to marine terminals and I also have a TSA pre-check comes with my TWIC card. So that is going to be a big, big what they say that's going to be I was going to use one of the words the kids are using but that's going to be a good little prize for me when I'm traveling this summer, but also just traveling moving forward, because, when I tell you, the MTSA line sometimes be too long, especially when you're traveling somewhere further out of state. So I'm very excited to have my card. I had talked about it for a long time, before I even started working at my job, and I finally got it done the other day because it was also they were like we, they, we all need to make sure that we have twit cards, um, at work. So I got mine, so I'm excited. Um, I'm looking real official when I'm walking around the building now, so I'm excited I need to apply, you to apply for my century.

Speaker 1:

I need to do that already me and paris have been talking about doing century. He wants to, or global entry or whatever. Um, yeah, he wants to do that yeah but so one of the things that is said on there was that because they do a background check, right and it was saying that they look at like I guess if you have any felonies or if you have any duis, so is that a problem, if you for getting a century pass if you have felonies or what like duis I don't know, I don't know if dui does, but felonies yeah.

Speaker 2:

And also sometimes, like your family, like if your family has history of like drug trafficking, trafficking like they won't, they won't give it to you okay, I mean I don't got no felonies, but I just was curious, because I was reading even with my twit card.

Speaker 1:

I was reading all the requirements and all the things and they were asking like have you had any crime felonies, have you had any of these type of felonies? I was like girl, no, I literally ain't never did anything in my life, like I'm not that interesting like.

Speaker 2:

I literally have a twit card and a government job says like yeah, like no, that's fine, okay.

Speaker 1:

Well, let's get into this tea. We can take a very, very quick break and then we'll be right back and we'll get into some of these crazy topics in the world today. Bye, bye.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 1:

And we are back, so we're going to get into an array of things today. I think that we have not had a worldwide cheesemay or gotten into the juicy gossip of the world in some time, so there's a lot going on, but we're going to cover some.

Speaker 3:

We're going to cover quite a few things, so yeah, what shall we start with?

Speaker 1:

Do you want to want to dive into?

Speaker 1:

Let's start with this, because it's April 25th and Beyonce is expecting to kick off her tour on Monday and it's been a lot of chitter-chatter in the news, talking about how ticket sales are low and you know how the tour may not happen, and I mean all the things the girls are grasping for straws. So a couple of days ago there was a post that came out that said that there is a number of unsold seats in major cities and that there is about at the opening night in Los Angeles, sofi Stadium has had over 3,200 tickets remaining that were unsold, which is in there for the opening night on April 28th, which is a Monday, for the seats for the opening show for B. Then it said the final night at New Jersey in the.

Speaker 1:

MetLife Stadium has approximately 5,500 unsold tickets and the Atlanta show on July 14th has over 5,800 available seats, including more than half of the floor seats that are not bought currently, at this time. So I mean here's my thing about it.

Speaker 2:

I just feel, like a couple of things.

Speaker 1:

A lot of these people have jobs, um, and one of the other things I was just talking about, because I was actually talking about it with my brother.

Speaker 1:

We're gonna go see her, when we go see her uh, next week, on may 4th um, which is on a sunday, uh, more a majority of people are going on that Sunday show. That Sunday show is pretty close to being sold out. I've seen all the seats are. A lot of the seats are gone. I got really lucky and found my tickets for like 300 and I got really good seats.

Speaker 1:

There was actually floor seats that I found for 300 on the floor in like one of the other sections and I was. The only reason I didn't choose them was because I'm like I'm short, like there's no way if, like somebody's super tall in front of me or standing on their seat in front of me, I'm not gonna be able to see the stage or anything of what's going on and I'm not gonna pay to be on the floor if I have to look up and look at the screen the whole time right so um.

Speaker 1:

So I just feel like you know what what do people want?

Speaker 3:

her to say or do right, Because as soon as the pre-sale started, everybody was talking about how high the tickets were Then.

Speaker 1:

now we're talking about how there's no tickets being sold. But I also want to touch on the fact that you know this album has been such a controversial conversation and or album and I can you know it wasn't everybody's favorite and that's fine, and I said this with renaissance.

Speaker 1:

Everybody talks so much about renaissance and how they didn't like it and how you know, was this, that and the third, and I was like that's fine because when the concert tickets open, don't let there be no problem with me getting mine you know, the girls that get it, get it and the girls that don't don't, and I think that you know. I also said at that time too, like it's a bunch of you bandwagon girlies who just want to get on it because you loved renaissance and now you're all of a sudden a fan and you know, and I'm not here for any of that.

Speaker 1:

Stay home, don't come keep those seats unsewed, because the thing is that she gonna get the bag regardless, like it has nothing to do with y'all not buying these tickets.

Speaker 1:

And then I also feel like again, like you know, people can't always commit to go to something off to work on a monday like especially in la we're talking about I gotta be working at nine o'clock, then I get off at five and I gotta be somewhere else after that, two hours later in LA, like there's traffic Atlanta has traffic, you know. I feel like like they're just looking for something to have something to say about this concert and then, once it starts, the next thing you know the whole thing is sold out and you know it's the highest selling tour of such and such time and it's like the girls just want something to report on and I'm just I'm not here for it. I'm like, if y'all don't calm down, but what I do think is cool is that she's partnered the tour has partnered with some hotels to do like giveaways, which I think is cool. So they're giving away tickets and like package deals for you to be able to travel and go see the concert and other stadiums, because it also is only a.

Speaker 3:

I think it's nine cities that she's going to, or 10, so it's a very.

Speaker 1:

It's not an international tour. It is a very small, short tour and it's a chitlin circuit, just like she said. What does that?

Speaker 2:

mean it's a chitlin circuit, just like she said.

Speaker 1:

What does that?

Speaker 2:

mean it's just small, and intimate.

Speaker 1:

It's just in short, it's like a residency.

Speaker 1:

She's going to each city or state and doing short residencies, essentially. Yeah, like you know, I think she has five shows in LA. She has a couple in Chicago, atlanta, vegas, london, and I think Vegas is the last one, because that's at the last part of July. And then I'm like, and once act three comes out, I'm sure it's gonna go on tour again. So like I don't understand the issue, like it's to me, it's just again. I think it's wanting to find something to report on and to talk shit about is that's also media.

Speaker 2:

So not surprised. I think too, like her tour wasn't that long ago, right?

Speaker 1:

Right, and then it was just last year.

Speaker 2:

The tickets are a little more expensive than it's hard to like. Do like to buy a ticket like back to back.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2:

And then also like everything right now is just so expensive. Mm-hmm, a ticket like back to back and then also like everything right now is just so expensive, you know so to miss work which some people don't have pto or whatever and then also spend on the ticket and drinks and outfit, um, not everybody can do it, you know. So it's no, I agree yeah I don't think it's necessarily that she's not capable right, because we've seen she's more than capable of selling out arenas and stadiums over and over um so maybe it's just all of those factors combined well, and I mean

Speaker 1:

again and we don't know what the show's gonna look like either so so if anybody. People watched the Renaissance film, then they know that she had to do a lot to get the stage around, to get the crew around, to get dancers around, you know. So I think, if I'm understanding correctly, she's like I can't do that right now.

Speaker 2:

I don't want to.

Speaker 1:

You know that's a lot of work and that's a lot of money that goes out, instead of having to fly things or rent things in other countries, or you know, that's just that's a lot of organization and a lot of work, and I get that. You know having to manage multiple areas or manage multiple stages in different areas at one at one time while you're on stage preparing for one show, so I understand and also, like you said, sorry, also like you said, it's like um it's the country album, right yes and like it's not everybody's cup of tea, you know, so it's like.

Speaker 2:

I think it's more like if you're a loyal fan or if you have the open mind of her like trying different. You know um genres of music, because renaissance was very beyonce on like a on steroids. You know like her pop or like her um, I don't know. It's just very, very beyonce and very like everyone knew about it, even if you weren't a big fan or anything. Yeah, yeah, yeah, but I mean, her Super Bowl performance with her country songs was really good, or what was it A Beyonce Bowl? I?

Speaker 1:

mean that's what they were calling it. But it was just a halftime show. Performance for Christmas. Yeah, at the Texas game.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so I'm sure it'll be nice. You know, she knows how to set a stage and provide a good performance.

Speaker 1:

I have no doubt that I am going to get my life next Sunday. Okay, I am looking forward to my inner body coming out to live in the moment of this little, this tour and this concert. Okay.

Speaker 2:

I did. There was some other news that had came out that some people's seats are being rearranged because of stage modifications.

Speaker 1:

So who knows what that means? I mean she either could have changed up the stage completely or made it smaller, or decided to, because only the concept that's on the website, you know it's like super basic, yeah, but you never know. Right Like, oh my gosh.

Speaker 1:

It's shaped like a it's. I guess it is kind of shaped like a guitar this stage right now. But I shaped like a. I guess it is kind of shaped like a guitar this stage right now. But I see like a beat too, and it's like you know, and she always names the clubs down in the little center.

Speaker 1:

But I think it's going to be good. I think it's going to be fun and, quite frankly, the less people the better, because you don't have to worry about commingling through all of the crowd. I don't give a fuck.

Speaker 2:

Maybe you could sneak to the front and get a better seat.

Speaker 1:

My seats are good. I'm good, I don't need to. My seats are pretty nice.

Speaker 2:

Okay, yeah, you're gonna have fun.

Speaker 1:

Yes, me and Marta are gonna have a good time. He's gonna get down here on, I think, Saturday night or sunday morning and we just gonna hang out and do the damn thing.

Speaker 2:

It's gonna be great he's gonna come down here and then you guys are gonna go back up to la no, he's gonna just come to la. Sorry, yeah oh, okay, okay, you guys are gonna get there. Are you staying there?

Speaker 1:

yes, yeah, we got a hotel, so we're gonna stay there for the night. Um, I need to buy my train ticket to go up there, which is it's like 35 bucks, but yeah, I'm excited to see your guys's outfits yes I actually just got the rest of mine, or? Some more pieces of mine yesterday I'm going very cowboy on the ranch, all black with my cowboy hat, with some touches of brown.

Speaker 2:

I guess I should say with my cowboy hat.

Speaker 1:

I bought a new cowboy hat belt to go around my hat and I bought a feather. I know you said you wanted one.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

So, and I also, I have to figure out how to put that on the hat. I know how to put the belt on obviously, but the feather thing. I'm like how do they make it stay? So I'm gonna have to figure that out. I might I have a little bit of material spray glue that I can probably use, but I do have to figure out how to make sure that it stays on and that it stays on and that it doesn't mess up the leather.

Speaker 3:

The hat, the wool on the hat, yeah, yeah, yeah, no for sure, because that's the other thing.

Speaker 1:

I'm like these hats ain't cheap honey Right.

Speaker 2:

Because that's not cheap.

Speaker 1:

And I don't want to get fucked up. Exactly so you're gonna be very vaquero vibes.

Speaker 2:

That's cute.

Speaker 1:

Yes, it's funny, I was thinking about going to get me a big buckle belt, um. But I was like what kind? Because you know um, gucci sometimes sells them, fergamo sells them, but then I was like should I just go get? Like a very like vaquero, like huge thick old metal. Oh my gosh, they eat that shit up at that concert yeah, tj has nice ones.

Speaker 2:

My grandpa used to always wear like an ostrich belt, like a white one, and then like a big buckle with a chain and the bracelet, all the things.

Speaker 1:

That's what I was actually thinking just going to boobar because boobar has them too.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, they're so expensive they are, but they're nice and they last they are nice.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I agree um, so yeah, I just wanted to talk a little bit about that for the concert.

Speaker 1:

I am excited it's going to be a good time and we'll see. We'll see how it goes.

Speaker 2:

You'll give us a review.

Speaker 1:

I will give y'all a full review.

Speaker 2:

Do we want to switch over to some things happening in the economy? Yeah, economy, yeah. So we kind of touched, you know, like on everything kind of increasing or increasing, um, and changes that have been made, um, I know, like for my, my, in my workplace um budgets have been impacted and like, um, just you know, adjustments that are being made due to the financial situation, which is crazy because I work with the homeless and that's not like improving you know it's not going anywhere it's.

Speaker 2:

It doesn't look very bright yet especially with the price of everything.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, for real. But also I think the Head Start program was removed, which is like a lot of people lost jobs and then like child care and things like that. But we were going to talk about the consumer price index for March because obviously right now we're recording April's not over, um, so one of the things that I thought was interesting because you see a lot of memes and stuff about eggs and egg prices is that, um, that in just this year so far, so in the last four months, there has been a 5.9% increase in the index for eggs, meats, poultry, fish and the eggs rose just 1.3% in March alone.

Speaker 2:

So it's like every month it's going up almost 2%, which in the moment doesn't sound like a lot, but it's like then what next month is 10%, you know, and it's like.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And those are like the main themes, like your eggs, your meat, chicken fish, like all of that are you know? Important important things, and the non-alcoholic beverages rose 2.4 percent. The dairy and related products rose 2.2 percent and the food away from home rose 2.2%.

Speaker 3:

And the food away from home.

Speaker 2:

So I'm assuming like eating out and stuff rose 3% and I know like on my bill, uh, they did increase, like my SDG&E bill, I don't know like if for you, the index for natural gas rose 3.6%, the index for electricity increased by 1%. There's just been like a lot of increases and I don't know like I think everything added up. It just is like a lot. You know, like motor vehicle insurance is up 7.5 percent, medical care 3 percent, education 4 percent, education 4%. All of this is on BLSgov and it's the Consumer Price Index Summary for March. So this is like the actual government website that we're referring to. So, yeah, it says that with transaction data purchased from a vendor to increase the accuracy of the index, and it is set to. You know things are set to vendor to increase the accuracy of the index and it is set to you know things are set to continue to increase.

Speaker 2:

You know, just same thing with uh, streaming services that are increasing. Post, the postal service, is increasing a five percent for the each staff. Coffee is has a potential 20 increase. And then the tariffs, which that the tariffs, is hard to determine, right, because it's a lot of like speculation, a lot of like back and forth. And then it's like you know California, our governor, you know he stands up to Trump and you know he doesn't really back down. So it's like like it's hard to put an exact number on it right now, but I know Shein is sending like emails and other places and like Fashion Nova and like places like that that sell a lot online are sending emails of like prices potentially increasing already yeah, um, a couple of things.

Speaker 1:

So I mean, I think we've always there's always been a conversation about like SDG&E gas and bill, I would say was mostly during Christmas and sometimes during the summer when we have the AC on. But ours has always pretty much been high in this house, and but the other day our water bill was super high and I can't figure out why, and also it's high again. So I don't know if there's something going on with the increase in water utilities or what, but that has been an issue as well.

Speaker 1:

I just you know I think for me when we think about all the things that are being taken away, all the resources that are being signed into executive order to be demolished. You're talking about budget cuts and working with the county, which is the county is one of the ones that produces and manages majority of these resources. It's sad to see and to know that essentially what's been happening right now is that they're taking away all the resources and benefits of the people who don't have the ability to make a specific type of income every month or year or whatever, however you want to look at it and be able to live so you know, it's looking a little more like the.

Speaker 1:

Hunger Games. You know it's starting to look like it's getting to that point, to where it's going to be looking like. You know we're going to be in specific districts. It's going to be clear of what type of class people are in and live in. And you know and that's sad to see where California usually is a place where people come and to be able to get all different types of support and be able to take in all different types of resources. But that may not be the case come this time next year, so that's sad and that sucks.

Speaker 1:

The tariffs.

Speaker 1:

It is scary, we have been talking about the tariffs very heavily at work because we are going to start experiencing some issues with tariffs, especially in our engineering and construction areas and departments. They are expecting it to be an issue, they I think yesterday they were saying with steel, steel and aluminum, and it was one other material that we use a lot I can't remember what it was, but it was steel and aluminum especially because we do a lot of building around the port and we have projects coming up, I mean, and then other items that are going to take a while to get there. We have one huge progressive build project that's coming up that they're trying to start, you know, and we have some budgetary things that we're trying to look at too.

Speaker 1:

So it's just the world's a complete fucking dumpster fire right now.

Speaker 2:

The richer getting richer and the poor getting poorer is the sad part different shelters are like closing down, like you said, and like a lot of different resources, and for me, it's like you already see people on the freeways everywhere and like everywhere you know, and it's like trash everywhere you know. It's no secret, like you can see it as you're driving anywhere, pretty much in San Diego and LA, just like anywhere in California. Yeah, so it's like you're going to close on this and then what? Like we're paying hella money to live here and just like you know.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah I mean. And then having to, you know, and then if you're having to take care of a family too, and not just yourself, you know you have, and Sometimes you can figure out how to hustle and get what you need. But at this point I'm suggesting everybody, just grow a garden and buy you some chickens.

Speaker 2:

I should get a chicken coop.

Speaker 1:

Just get you some chickens, girl. You'll have eggs consistently. Get you some meats and put the motherfuckers in the freezer. You know, maybe get you a pig.

Speaker 3:

Set her up in your backyard or your balcony.

Speaker 2:

I don't know. I mean, you know I?

Speaker 1:

just it's at some point we're going to have to figure out how to sustain, how to make sure that we can live without, you know, relying on the grocery store and other resources, making sure that you can live your life in a way that is starting to be less, more independent and less dependent on other resources the government. Yes, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, crazy.

Speaker 1:

Speaking of the government, there is someone who is legally in trouble with the government currently or allegedly. And that is Mr Shannon Sharp. So, girl, I have to tell you that I knew nothing about this until you told me the other day and we were talking about it, and now it's been all over my timeline, all over my feed, everyone's talking about. It's an ignosium and I just wish I never knew about it. But we'll talk.

Speaker 2:

we're gonna talk about it you're like why did you speak it? Because now I've heard you patron, and now it's everywhere yes, it's everywhere, um.

Speaker 1:

So the other day, um, a woman who I guess identified herself as jane doe, filed a civil lawsuit in nevada against shanna sharp, seeking 50 million in damages. The lawsuit alleges that sharp sexually assaulted her multiple times during their nearly nearly two-year relationship, including two instances of rape in October 2024 and January 2025. The suit also claims that Sharp recorded and distributed private sexual encounters without her consent and inflicted emotional distress. So this came out like it said April, something the young lady described as Jane Doe. According to the court, she met with Sharp at Los Angeles gym in January 2023, when she was 20 years old, indicating she's currently around 20, 22 years old. The lawsuit also describes that a nearly two year relationship that began consensual but allegedly became abusive over time. So let's do some math, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Let's math, the math.

Speaker 1:

Let's math the math. So Shannon Sharp, I believe, is in his late 40s. I think he's like 49.

Speaker 2:

Let's ask right now Exactly let's ask Siri. Okay, 56 years old 56 years old.

Speaker 1:

Good old ass, uncle Shannon Sharp, 56. So Shannon Sharp is 56, was starting to a relationship with a young woman who at the time then was 19, because then it was 2, she was 20 and now 22. I just want to take a little pause and send right here just for a second and understand. At 19 years old, I mean at 56 years old what is it that you see in a 19 year old that you are so attracted to Somebody, tell me, anybody in the room?

Speaker 3:

Somebody in the chat.

Speaker 2:

Chat what's up what do we see in 19 year olds that we're?

Speaker 1:

so attracted to up. What do we see in 19 year olds that we're so attracted to? Now, I want to be clear that after 18, you are allegedly supposed to be legally of age to make your own decisions and, or, you know, date whoever you want. So that's fine. The problem here is that I'm asking at 56, at 56, what are we seeing in 19 year olds that we find so attractive? Because I look at a 19-year-old and I'm like, oh my God, that's a child. The motherfucker barely got breast milk from behind. Similac on his tongue, that's what my mom used to say.

Speaker 2:

The frontal lobe is not developed.

Speaker 1:

It's not developed.

Speaker 2:

I can't even have a conversation with you.

Speaker 1:

I can't even take a conversation with you. I can't even take you to a bar and have a drink, if I wanted to at 19. What are we?

Speaker 3:

doing and I think baby too you're a baby.

Speaker 1:

You're a child, you are still talking about I got riz like I, just I, I um I don't see it I don't see it, I don't understand it, and so I did listen to the video where he was talking about choking this girl and Like a tape right, like a video call they had that was recorded, that she recorded Right, that she recorded of him saying what he says. So it says. The legal team released the audio clips in which a man alleged to be Shana Sharp makes threatening statements, including if you say that word one more time, I'm going to fucking choke the shit out of you when.

Speaker 3:

I see you.

Speaker 1:

Sharp's representatives acknowledged the recording but claimed that the comments were made in heat of the moment and were not indicative of the actual intent.

Speaker 3:

That's what they said.

Speaker 1:

That's what they said. So here's the thing I said I'm going gonna slap the shit out of you if you don't stop. I've said that before, but the thing is here.

Speaker 1:

the thing is here is that it sounds like you have definitely done some abusive things to this young girl before. Sure, it may have been in the heat of the moment, but it certainly does not help your case, especially if you're being accused of sexual assault and abuse. I can go into many different things of what the people have said about Shannon Sharp, and we could have a whole conversation all day long about the speculations of him and his sexuality, but sometimes what I do think to be true is that people do things to try and prove themselves to others. Like, for example, go live on Instagram having sex with someone and tell them that it was an accident. Or like putting out stories about, or being on your podcast show talking about how you would fuck the brakes off of some girl and putting it out for the world to see. Or like firing your gay stylist after the world has said speculation of you having sex and being it with said gay stylist.

Speaker 2:

Brad, are you putting all the pieces together? This? Is why I fuck with you, dana. You're that FBI. You're that friend. You know how they're like everyone has that one friend like the FBI, like you know what I mean that they can investigate.

Speaker 3:

That they can investigate yeah.

Speaker 1:

You know, I just all I'm saying is the receipts are receding and it ain't looking good.

Speaker 2:

They just be doing the most instead of just.

Speaker 3:

And just saying what it is right Like but I also want to be clear that.

Speaker 1:

Here's the thing that you know being in the industry that he's in, being bi or or whatever, or being attracted to the same sex is not acknowledged. It's not fully accepted and I recognize that, and I understand that. So why would you come out, or why would you be open about who it is that you're attracted to, or whatever? Because if it ain't about bitches in the strip club, then what are we talking about essentially?

Speaker 3:

but, I'm also just like it's 2025.

Speaker 1:

How much longer are we going to do this?

Speaker 2:

and also like he's retired from being actually out on the field and, like you know, playing the sports in the locker rooms, and that one picture that pigeon tuck picture with the matching set and the lululemon bag and the hips and butt hit BBLing. I was like this. My friend is the cherry on top.

Speaker 1:

Following the losses, shannon Sharpe announced that he would reportedly he would temporarily step away from his duties at ESPN, including his role on First Take. He stated that he would temporarily step away from his duties at ESPN, including his role on First Take. He stated that he would use the time to focus on his family and address the allegations, but plans to return by the start of NFL preseason. He also said that Club Shea Shea was reportedly in negotiations for a new deal for over $100 million.

Speaker 1:

However, the current status of these negotiations are currently unclear and he had previous allegations that came out in where a woman filed a restraining order against him, which was later dismissed and which now has more recently resurfaced, that he choked a female production assistant during his tenure on Fox Sharp. This incident was reportedly settled in private and Sharp spoke person denied him choking allegations. Described the event as a playful interaction.

Speaker 2:

So he just be out here like hating women or what, okay, so I saw these two comments that really like I wanted to bring up real quick yes, please no yes please. One comment was like I can't get past the grown man calling himself come on I mean. The other comment was even his suits are like. It's fine, I see all the cat pictures of him in all his suits. They're all like leggings, like tight ankle showing.

Speaker 1:

It's fine to have a tailored suit, it's fine to have you know to call yourself shea shea. That's all the internet just being the internet, and I love them for that. But I also just want to be clear that those things are okay. Where we are, where where it's not adding up is your actions against women, and then people are saying certain things about your sexuality, but then you coming out looking like this Right Like you know, let's call it really what it is Like those things are great, those things are cool, but everything else just don't line up or add up.

Speaker 1:

It's not making sense.

Speaker 2:

It was also like the part of the phone call for me that just gave me the ick was like like because she goes, because she talks like very slow and you love like they're monotone, like they're like okay, like like that. So then she's like okay, shannon, and he's like quiet, and he's like okay, what?

Speaker 2:

and it's like yeah, you're 60 years old. Talking to a 20 year old girl talking about okay, what? Let a dude tell me like okay, okay, bye. Like I'm not gonna sit here and like what do you mean? Okay, what? And just want to drag this on. Like what are we talking about? What is I don't? You're 60?

Speaker 1:

oh my god yes, that and I also think. But I also can tell which he clearly didn't know that she was setting him up right for that call and he fell right into that trap. She. That call clearly was set up for her to be able to call him and get him in, trapped and caught up in the shit that he was saying or had been doing to her recently or in the past, or whatever the case may be.

Speaker 2:

Especially because there's like long pauses where you can tell she's like thinking. Trying to think of stuff Like she's thinking in her head or like maybe she's with somebody else. I don't know. Yeah, and they're listening she's with somebody else, I don't know, yeah, and they're listening like it or like tell whispering, you know, but it's like it's. This is clearly a calculated phone correct absolutely percent. But, like you said, maybe he did fall into it if they had already been messing around for two years or communicating, you know, for over a year.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you know he didn't expect that and that she should have. You know, I don't necessarily agree with that. You know, I would say like if something happens, you know right then, and there you know what.

Speaker 3:

I mean Mm-hmm.

Speaker 2:

But also, like you said, the frontal lobe is not developed. Right, right you take fucking with these little girls at that big age there's also speculation that this girl was a sex worker.

Speaker 1:

Which, sure, understanding that there's certain things that maybe you are supposed to deal with. I don't know when you're a sex worker. I'm not a sex worker, I never have been. But I think that shannon sharp is a 56 year old man who had a football career and has, I'm sure, quite a bit of change in the bank. Shannon sharp does not need to hire a prostitute, so why are we hiring prostitutes? I'm pretty sure shannon sharp could walk in the club, get any bitch that he want on any given day.

Speaker 2:

And he has a successful podcast. He has so much you know like to lose and so many connections to networks and like why I don't get it. We've talked about this over and over, like, like you have the money, that you have the power, the fame. For what? For what?

Speaker 1:

if I had the money that Shannon Sharp had, do you know I would be somewhere on an island minding my god given business with my own garden and farm minding my God-given business, I'd be up with my own garden and farm and I'd be standing on. You wouldn't even hear from me For what?

Speaker 3:

For what yeah?

Speaker 2:

Anyway, moving on, do you?

Speaker 1:

have anything before I talk about this turd.

Speaker 2:

No I don't. Alright.

Speaker 1:

Alright, so Trump has signed recently an executive order and he has.

Speaker 1:

Oh, where is it? I'm sorry. So we know that he's done a dismantling of the department of education. We know that now they are looking at not docking people's pay there's a word that I wanted to use but he's looking at taking out money for people's student loans from their paychecks garnishing yes, garnishing people's wages, and so that has been. It is official as of March 20th that there will not be any loan forgiveness based for student loans and that students will need to pay back their loans.

Speaker 2:

Now, I guess, what is unclear?

Speaker 3:

is a lot of people have already been going through their forgiveness loan process.

Speaker 1:

So they've been making minimum payments to kind of get their process officially approved. Yeah, like for instance our friend, he has his loans for when he was getting his doctorate and the process that he's going through and he has to make some payments up until an X amount of time and then the rest will be forgiven.

Speaker 2:

Okay, and they already agreed to that yeah, that's already in process.

Speaker 1:

He's already, you know he's already on the plan, but that part I don't I'm not clear on. If that is so, we're gonna stop this plan and you just have to pay the rest back, or we're gonna. You know, like I'm not clear on the actual logistics of what this means and what this is supposed to look like for people moving forward, especially for the people that already have this kind of emotion another executive order uh, it orders to eliminate the use of they call it desperate impact and it's a discipline executive order which previously considered statistical disparities in disciplinary actions among different racial groups as potential evidence of discrimination.

Speaker 1:

Evidence of discrimination the administration agrees that such equity-based approaches amount to racial discrimination themselves. The Department of Education is taking with issuing new guidance within 30 days to ensure discipline policies are applied uniformly regardless of race. So essentially, this means if a teacher wants to discipline your child while they are in school and or in class, they now will have the right to do that let me take you all the way back to 1998 or 99, when a little boy named dana was in a school, catholic school, in the third grade.

Speaker 1:

My teacher's name was Ms Horton and Ms Horton. Whenever she was an old lady, ms Horton had to be nobody's, nothing more than 75 something years old. This lady was an old lady, I mean but she was very sweet past retirement, sweet old Black lady.

Speaker 1:

Every time we would come to class I always had hot cheetos. She would always I'll always share my hot cheetos with her. She loved my hot cheetos. But when I was, when we were getting trouble, we would get in trouble and she would. She would spank us in the hands with a ruler and that is how she disciplined all of her students in class. So everybody knew that if you were in miss horton's class and you were not behaving, you was gonna get your ass fucked up with this wooden ruler that she had.

Speaker 1:

She broke a ruler one time because she hit a student so hard and you know the student was just a distraught I mean a mess that's traumatic it is traumatic right, but when I think about it now you know I can laugh about it, but then I didn't, it didn't happen to me often yeah and when it did, I do specifically remember my parents coming up to school and being like you cannot do that to my child and if you do it again, it's gonna be, a fucking problem.

Speaker 1:

I remember a couple of parents coming up for their children, uh, and having a conversation about it, and I think shortly after that she was no longer there. She actually, I think they made her leave or retire and I she I'm sure she passed since then but um, so yeah it's it was a thing, uh, in schools.

Speaker 1:

I want to say, by time I was in the sixth grade, it had already become not a thing and was a problem, something that was of the past, but now it's something that is seeming to be coming back into schools. Do you think this is just another move on his part to try to really push people to homeschool or to do private schools? No, I think this is a pull. This is a push for because Trump has said before that he thinks teachers should carry guns. I think this is a push for him to think that it is okay for teachers to be armed and in school.

Speaker 3:

Oh.

Speaker 1:

No, that's exactly what.

Speaker 2:

I think is happening. I think also like he loves to go back in time, right and just take everything back in time. Well, yeah, I mean, he's an old idiot like absolutely absolutely yeah, I was just about to ask you tell me they won't be talking. First of all, can we? Put out you put out for my kids no even if it's another kid, I'm like where's your mama? At. You, know I. Just there will be very major consequences whether I have to take it into my own hands, if it becomes a thing that's legal.

Speaker 3:

That's just what it is.

Speaker 2:

That's my approach to things and to my children.

Speaker 1:

I 100% agree and understand. I mean, I feel the same way about this as I was just having this conversation about as I feel about at work. There should be no reason that you are getting loud argumentative or yelling or doing anything to show any violent, or that you are going to do anything to anyone in a workplace, a school or anywhere where you are supposed to be showing and being a professional.

Speaker 1:

If you are a workplace, a school or anywhere where you are supposed to be showing and being a professional. If you are a teacher, you should be able to handle the kids in a manner that is going to be respectful and that is going to be conducive to their safety.

Speaker 1:

They are not your children, right, that's the same for when you're at work. These are not your kids, these are adults. You should be able to talk and handle people in the way you're supposed work. These are not your kids, these are adults. You should be able to talk and handle people in the way you're supposed to handle them, and if you can't do that, then you should walk away.

Speaker 2:

Maybe it's not the job for you, and or maybe it's not the job for you, you know, I just I get tired of like why do we keep having to tell people the same things? Over and over again like it's these kids it's these people that didn't get their ass looked when they were kids I think, is that what it is no I don't know, I don't know. No, I don't I, I don't know I'll be like come on.

Speaker 3:

What are we doing?

Speaker 1:

exactly, and I recognize that being a teacher is challenging. It's not easy, you know. It's not something that everybody can do.

Speaker 3:

It's not for everybody, and I get that.

Speaker 1:

But at some point you have to be able to put yourself in a position to where you can control and manage the things that are in front of you, and if you cannot do that, then you should not be a teacher. You should decide to do a different career in any space that you feel like you can't do that in, and that's just what it is.

Speaker 2:

Or get the proper resources.

Speaker 1:

Or get the proper resources, or get the proper resources, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Or work out or go to therapy, do something, so then you can show up and be able to do that you know, or handle it properly.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, Girl so.

Speaker 2:

But that hasn't passed yet right.

Speaker 1:

It was signed, he was being signed. It hasn't passed yet, right. It was signed, he was being signed.

Speaker 3:

It has not passed yet now.

Speaker 2:

I'm sure there will be protests for that.

Speaker 1:

Oh, I'm sure there's going to be a lot of issues. I'm sure parents are about to be in the school district's ass. You better not.

Speaker 2:

Alright, in these, in these the school district's ass like you better not alright.

Speaker 1:

I know little Johnny's bad, but no anything else before we wrap up this piece no alright well yeah, right, alright, we'll take a small break and then we'll be right back and we are back, so hope you enjoyed today's conversation. Stephanie's going to read some affirmations for the tourists out there in the world. Tourist season's coming up and you know there's a new moon this weekend or tonight. It's tonight or this weekend, so we're in tourist season, but yeah, um then the new moon is on april 27th, so sunday april 27th so sunday, wait, your season starts in april.

Speaker 1:

Oh, I think apr oh that's right, april 21st, and then cancer starts in June, all the way to the beginning of July.

Speaker 2:

Ok, that makes sense it's Taurus Gemini and then cancer.

Speaker 1:

Yes, yes, yes, it's all coming back, ok, all right. Well, go ahead back.

Speaker 2:

Okay, all right, well, go ahead. So it does say new moons are a time for rejuvenation and manifestation. If you have a lack in your life, this is the time the collective will work to fill it. So it says just make space for beginnings. So the new moon in Taurus, which takes place on April 27th 2025 at 3.30 pm Eastern Standard Time, is all about learning how to get through conflicts that may feel unspoken and difficult to explain, like a seemingly harmless pet peeve you feel towards your best friend, but you can't exactly put your finger on what bothers you, or an ick that your partner gives you, even though technically, they've done nothing wrong. Taurus energy is all about keeping the peace and embracing affection and stillness, which, for you, may mean learning to accept someone despite the subtle frustrations they bring to the surface. So there are a few considerations to keep in mind during this new moon.

Speaker 2:

Number one relationship energy is front and center, so you may have the opportunity to develop deeper bonds with the people closest to you and practicing a little faith that your loved ones will help you navigate challenging conversations. It says the moon is a mirror, so building a mutual understanding, whether if it's with a friend, a sibling, that is rooted in growth and it's okay to pause. So it may feel a little bit charged and intense, especially emotionally, but you need to power through every conversation in one sitting and it's okay to communicate and take breaks if you feel overwhelmed. Lastly, it says watch your mouth. So even if you're trying your best to communicate clearly and compassionately, your words may land in a way that causes someone else to feel attacked, exposed, defensive. So just keep in mind that once words are spoken, they can never be unsaid. So take your time when speaking about sensitive topics and, just you know, think before you speak.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Love it.

Speaker 3:

That's cute.

Speaker 2:

I'm definitely open to new blessings and a new, just like you know, new energy, fresh energy.

Speaker 1:

I mean, I think that when you always, when the new moon comes and you're cleaning, spring is all about newness, right, is all about newness, right. And it's important to recognize that when you're going into a new era, that you clean out the old shit, get rid of that old shit and let to be able to bring in the new. That's always important thing because you need to be able to get that fresh energy going, you know, get the good vibes moving and so we can go into summer with that that energy where everybody's going to want to come and pop it on a handstand and throw it back for the real one.

Speaker 2:

Absolutely. Couldn't have said it better, my friend.

Speaker 1:

I know right, I mean.

Speaker 2:

I think also thank you for coming to my TED talk. Thank you for coming to my TED talk thank you for coming to my TED talk. I think also, like the old rusty, like dirty versions can't coexist with the new shiny. You know objects, you know it'll tarnish it and I think, just yeah, leave that one away, so then this one can shine bright like a diamond yeah, I agree, I agree.

Speaker 1:
