Speaker 3:

New year, new episode, new episode hey, girlies let me see if I can get a same bitches you know a little bit of the same.

Speaker 1:

You know kind of new. You know what I'm saying. Let me see if I can get a little little video going. You know what it is. When we when this mic out, that mean recordings being happening. Make sure y'all listening quiet on the set um, how's it going, friend? Welcome back I know.

Speaker 3:

Welcome back. It's been a while it's been a minute.

Speaker 1:

It's been a minute we've been on a lovely, lovely resting time and little vacation over the last, uh, three weeks. Um, much needed downtime, much needed rest. When I tell you I did my best to not look at the computer, not even like.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, not even checking your emails like that.

Speaker 1:

No, I worked a little bit all the way up until because our our, so our office is closed. Um to the public. For I think it was like december. It started for me on december 19th, so shortly after that I didn't have to go into the office. Um, and that's when it started for me. I was like, well, you know, girl, let me put all this stuff away, because I don't want to see it, no more. Yeah, but what's going on? How was your day?

Speaker 3:

You had to disconnect and be on vacation, huh.

Speaker 1:

Yes, yes.

Speaker 3:

My day was really good, very productive. I went to work, I did some outreach, I had a meeting and I went to the gym for like two hours. I got a really good workout and I had, uh like a tomato bisque soup oh yum what was, it wasn't it seafood in there um no, it's tomato, just tomato, like yeah, tomato bisque. But it was like creamy and I had it with um some french bread.

Speaker 1:

It was very good and you made it, or where'd you get it from?

Speaker 3:

um, I got it pre-made and then I just like I warmed it up at home oh, yeah, and I got some French bread, like some fresh one from Vons, and it was good sounds delish yeah, it's been super cold. It was 42 degrees this morning when I left my house, so I and honestly it didn't really warm up like the sun came out, but it was still pretty chilly. Yeah, it's been as far as I'm concerned.

Speaker 1:

It's been cold all week. It's been cold for the last couple. It didn't really warm up Like the sun came out, but it was still pretty chilly yeah. As far as I'm concerned, it's been cold all week. It's been cold for the last couple of weeks.

Speaker 3:

Right.

Speaker 1:

It's definitely been giving frostbite.

Speaker 3:

Yes, and I feel like my skin is so dry, like my lips are getting dry, yeah, and then this weekend my son won his first like championship ring, which was cool, and so I was like in the fields all day and it was very cold in the morning and then just dry in the day. Um. So, yeah, I just feel like my skin like I want to like lather aquaphor on it or something like it feels so dry yeah.

Speaker 1:

I feel that it's definitely been. The cold weather has definitely been making a little icky out and it's definitely been giving you know dry winter season for sure right um, and even tonight, like when I was on my way home from work, it was super windy, which you know. It sometimes can get windy, but it was like very, very windy um so it was. It was interesting um how was your day? It was you girl. A lot to catch up on.

Speaker 1:

I worked. Okay. I've been working since I stepped foot back in the office last week. It has been it's been a doozy. I'll tell you that.

Speaker 3:

How's your home project coming?

Speaker 1:

It's coming. Well, since we're putting it out there, um, we're currently getting our bathroom remodeled, our main bathroom in the front, towards the front of the house, I guess. Um, yeah, so they're now at the point to where they're putting the tile, uh, up nice um up.

Speaker 1:

Nice. So by tomorrow they should be done with the tiling and then they can do the grout, I think, after that. And then now, after that it's just all the finishings and paint. So you know, we got to put the new sink, new cabinet in, and then that'd be that. I guess It'll be finally done. We are in our second week. You're almost there.

Speaker 1:

I'm truly hoping by the end of this week we will be. I will kind of be closer to that light, because when I tell you I am over the construction era, It'll be worth it. Yes, yes, I'm sure it to be straightened up and it's never like it can never be just fully straightened up because there's, you know, construction paper stuff all on the floor, so for dust and all the you know dirt and stuff that's coming in and out for the from the construction workers and yeah honey.

Speaker 1:

Yes, I'm ready to move on to the next wrap it up but the sad part is we're thinking that we're going to do something else right after we get done with this, so we'll probably be in this phase for a little while that's a good way to start your year, though yeah, I'm happy that we're finally doing it.

Speaker 3:

Did you find a vanity?

Speaker 1:

I did. We found one from Ikea. We went and got the. It's pretty cute too. It's like these double drawers, mm-hmm, and it floats. It's a floating vanity. And so then we picked out a sink. At first, we saw the sink. We saw a sink that came with the vanity. We were like, oh, we're gonna pick this one. Then I opened the little. You know how ikea has a little different drawers and little options. I put it.

Speaker 1:

I was like, oh no, I like this one because it kind of has like a backsplash on it oh so and I, at first I was gonna buy more of the uh tiles for the niche and just have them put a backsplash across the bottom, but now that the sink which I probably could still do but, um, I don't know how much is gonna be left, but anyway, now, um, that the sink kind of has like a little back lip on it kind of has its own little back splash, I think that'll be fine for me.

Speaker 3:

Oh, that'll be cute.

Speaker 1:

Yes, and then the cabinet is a floating cabinet as well, so it's going to be nice.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, that'll be cute.

Speaker 1:

I'm excited the towel looks really good in there. Honestly, and it's gonna go really, really well with the uh matte black finishes, um. So I'm very luxurious I love that. That's cute, that is cute I feel like us doing this and seeing how good it looks is just gonna spiral into us wanting to do more stuff, because then we're going to be like, okay, everything now needs to match, because he even got like matte black doorknobs for the bathroom.

Speaker 3:

Oh, so he likes it Because he's yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it looks good. And we also ended up doing the metal finishes for the tile, but we ended up doing them in matte black. It looks good. And we also ended up doing the metal finishes for the tile, but we ended up doing them in matte black. It looked good. It does look good. Yeah, it gives it gets, it's, it's giving top tier.

Speaker 3:

I love that.

Speaker 1:

It's giving high quality. Yeah, that's cute.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, that's cute so did you enjoy your vacation?

Speaker 1:

I did. Did you enjoy your vacation? Uh, I did, I did. Um, before we get into that, let's uh, you know, we this week we are gonna, you know, just have a conversation. Um, yeah, we are back from the holidays. Um, you know, me and stephanie have seen each other. We spent some time together, so we've been chit-chatting girl. So now we just about to get y'all up to speed on all the tea that's been going on over the last couple of weeks. Um, you know, yeah, just get the tea together um but yes, this week I the vacation was good.

Speaker 1:

Like I said, my offices has closed on the 19th to the public, so I started working from home on the 19th, like fully, and I traveled to the Bay Area for Christmas on like that Sunday and that was great, you know, it rained the whole time but that was fine and that was great, you know it rained the whole time, but that was fine. It was good to see family. Good to hang out, Good to just, you know, unplug a little bit and be home. Yeah.

Speaker 3:

How about you? How was your christmas? What did you do? Um, so christmas was good, so before that I had a going away party for my mom. Um, she has officially moved to wisconsin.

Speaker 3:

Hello wisconsin like on that 70s show, um, so she moved, I had her party. Her party was cute, you guys came um, quite a few people came and she had a good time. I feel like she felt supported and she felt like the like love and stuff after that, which is good. Christmas it was very quiet at home with my mom, my brother, my kids, and then it was my son's birthday, had him on like a birthday party. Um, that was fun 20 kids running around, jumping, yelling, yelling, boys being boys. So that was cool.

Speaker 3:

And then New Year's I went to my cousin's house Family, our kids all got together and it was like chill. It was more chill and I enjoyed it. I enjoyed it. It was like not too much and, um, we, yeah, we ran underneath the table and ate our grapes and everything. And then it was my brother's birthday. So shout out to capricorn season. I know a lot of capricorns and, um, that was. We had a nice dinner, right, just minus the the weight, the inconvenience, but it's oh yeah, at texas yeah yeah, yeah, and then, um, then my son's tournament this weekend.

Speaker 3:

So I have gotten a lot of relaxing like in between, you know, like on weekdays and stuff, um. But I feel like it was like super busy for me all of december, beginning of january, and now it's kind of like settling down, unwinding and yeah, just like settling in and chilling that's cute.

Speaker 1:

What did you do for new year's eve?

Speaker 3:

yeah, for new year's eve we're at my cousin's house. And we, what did we make? Oh, we, we made a crab bollo, oh yum. Yeah, like a seafood bollo. So we had like crawfish. We added lobster tail like the potato, sausage, corn, like it was so good. What did you do?

Speaker 1:

We went to Eddie V's for the first time at first fall. First vlog. Girl are you? What are you eating? Are you eating ben and jerry's? What kind what's?

Speaker 3:

the flavor caramel sutra like kama sutra yeah it's my indulgence, sorry no, what's?

Speaker 1:

what are the tasting notes? My um after gym snack is it like strawberry or chocolate?

Speaker 3:

chocolate and caramel ice cream with a soft caramel core.

Speaker 1:

Yum, yeah. Yeah. We for the first time went to Eddie B's for New Year's Eve and it was a good time. I was expecting for it to be for whatever reason. I was expecting for it to be a little bit more busier and to have like a little bit more rowdier feel. Well, not rowdy, but a little bit more buzzing feel, you know, like very metropolitan. We're going to the high-end steakhouse to have drinks and do champagne, toast and all of that. But it really wasn't like that. But it was cute and it probably was good that it wasn't super busy, because they were already kind of they weren't running slow, but they weren't really running fast. But the restaurant was full of people. Like every table, from what I saw and could understand, was full. We sat upstairs on the second level, which we had not done before because they were so busy.

Speaker 1:

Um, it was cool, it was nice, and then you had never been there we're to eddie b's yeah oh yeah, I've been to eddie b's many times, we just had never been for new year's new year's yeah, um, so it was cute it was what it was then. The next day Paris was supposed to leave, and with his mom for their little son and mother bonding trip, but they never made it at the house until the next day.

Speaker 3:

And then I was going to give me time by myself, but you know held back a little bit held back and fell into pieces when it started what I'm hearing that is a little more, maybe, like what you're referring to, of like that cosmopolitan feel or like that. You know, people sitting at the bar and like mingling and like maybe. But I would like to go, we would have to go.

Speaker 1:

I haven't been to Javier's oh, yes, we can get cute and go to Javier's. Yes, you can have a little alcohol-free spritzer, yeah. And I can have an alcohol beverage. And double shot on the rocks On the rocks and you can have a double shot of spritzer and with a little lime and everything, I'm here for it.

Speaker 3:

It was so funny at my brother's dinner my cousin was shooketh that you had Don Julio on the rock.

Speaker 1:

I know I was like to me. I was like we've drank together before, like what are we talking about here?

Speaker 3:

Like you have a whiskey on the rocks, I have a tequila on the rocks.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean honestly, that's the best way to drink any hard alcohol, because you won't have no hangover the next day, you'll be good, and then you get the full effect. You get the full effect. So any Christmas presents that you have. That happened, that you were like, oh my God. For yourself what's usually your deal.

Speaker 3:

No, well, I usually.

Speaker 1:

Are you a big gift person.

Speaker 3:

Like for my kids, yeah. Okay. For my kids. I am like for, like my, my close circle, you know, like get, at least I try to give like a little something. Um, I just felt like this year it was a little harder because it was like my mom was leaving and then like my son's birthday party and like everything back to back, um, and the price of groceries and shit is not helpful mm-hmm like $20 eggs is crazy. Yo. When my son can eat five eggs in one sitting.

Speaker 1:

Really.

Speaker 3:

Yes.

Speaker 1:

I love that. I love eggs too. I went to Sprouts. What was that? I went to Sprouts, I think, right before we went away for Christmas and bought, or after we came back, actually, and Sprouts the one in Chula Vista has a 24 cart and it was like it was. It was 20 bucks yeah, that's.

Speaker 3:

It's insane. Like that milk. Um, like today I feel like all like I just got a like a few things like snacks for my sons, uh, to my son's, like school lunch and stuff, and I paid like 120 dollars at target. I was like you know, but it is what it is. Um, it's got to be on the grind more, I guess yeah and hopefully y'all I.

Speaker 3:

I was seeing on tiktok right that allegedly they're looking y'all's president is looking for I was just about to go there uh, it's, it's like the, I guess like the ending of the irs, like instead of calling it internal revenue service, so like not paying really taxes too much on I mean I'm just gonna let you keep talking.

Speaker 1:

I think people might be tired of hearing me.

Speaker 3:

I just, you know, we'll see what happens. I would love to not pay taxes, but I don't know how that would work. It sounds a little too good to be true.

Speaker 1:

Internal revenue. Revenue means making money off of income so I don't think the IRS is going to go anywhere and that that man ain't gonna help them do or go anywhere either. He don't got that kind of power number one. But also for those who thought that him coming into office was gonna help groceries go down and gas go down, do you know?

Speaker 1:

gas shot up last weekend immediately yeah you know, I just, and then also we should have said at the top of the show shout out to all the families and people that have been affected by all of the fires in Los Angeles and Altadena and Pasadena.

Speaker 3:

Yes.

Speaker 1:

We stand in solidarity. If anybody you reach out for some resources, we can try our best to help you. Stephanie and I have always talked about how we used to work for a resource center, uh, so if you need anything, let us know. We can do our best to get you connected. Um, but shout out to all y'all that are going through it over there in the los angeles I got an email earlier I just wanted to share super quick.

Speaker 3:

Oh yeah, so it's like for those affected by the wildfires and stuff it is. You can support little leagues and families in california and they have a disaster relief fund that helps. Um, it like helps, like it helps you pay a registration so your kid can still play sports. You know, because your expenses might are obviously going to be like going to your home and meeting your needs and stuff. So they have like a fund where they they're helping communities and they're also like helping with like sports registration. So let me get the exact website, because I feel like it's itleagueorg.

Speaker 1:

Oh, nice Okay.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

So you can donate.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, so you can donate and they're helping basically with like resources in the community, like you know food and like like food and you know games and toys, like little things for the kids that maybe they lost in their home. And it's helping with like registration, registering them for sports, so like, if they need help with like money to register the kid for sports, you know, because you still want your kid to have like something to look forward to in this time or like a physical outlet, um, you know just something, something positive for the kids and in you know a dark time maybe.

Speaker 1:

so it's to help with like a little bit of everything and there's lists of resources and stuff like that as well okay, perfect yeah um, yeah, and it's crazy that all of this is happening now, right like right and then also there's so many conspiracies, um, as to why it's happening. Yeah, and I'm not gonna say share the one that you sent me. I was like, I was like I told ferris, I was like stephanie, she's such like a conspiracy, like queen, and I'd just be so done like I can't um but he's like that too right yes, yeah, he actually was like.

Speaker 1:

He was like. You know, I just think donald trump is doing this so that you know he can, when he gets in the office, he never has to leave and everybody can rely on him on the relief of all the things. And I'm like you guys, natural disasters are natural disasters, they literally told us. The wind has been blowing now also. I did hear, though, that some of the fires have been caused on purpose, um, because they are trying to prepare in clear areas for um, for smart la the us open in 2028 have you seen smart la 2028

Speaker 3:

no, I've not so it's like for the olympics, like you said um but they're like basically revamping la to be more like futuristic or um a lot of like ai robot technology and there's like a plan in order for it, and in one of the one of the news like conferences, the guy was like um.

Speaker 3:

the guy literally said um, thank you for our first responders for helping us. You know in this time that we've been able so that now we can rebuild after the fires we set. So now the news out, like the news outlets are not playing that part and they're like but it's all over, tiktok, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yikes, that's crazy yeah.

Speaker 3:

And he's like one of the leaders in the fire disaster. Yeah, and he's like one of the leaders in the fire disaster, but I guess time will reveal.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean, you know, here's the thing about conspiracies Everything is not always true, but I think sometimes there are pieces that have truth to it. I think we all know that every city and area has it's all connected in some way, shape or form. No matter how the politicians act like they don't get along with one politician or another, they are politicians. They all work and in some way, shape or form, work together right, even though they may have different beliefs, even though you know they think we should go about it differently. Everybody has an end goal and a direction that they want to go in, and we'll we. I think we'll be more apt and feel not comfortable, but feel like once we get to that space of understanding and knowing that, that's a thing I think some of us would be better off.

Speaker 3:

You're like yeah. Yeah, definitely, I think, just taking it with a grain of salt, sometimes it does get a little scary and it's like should I leave California? Like there's just so much I feel like going on all the time um but time will reveal time will definitely reveal.

Speaker 1:

And I mean, I also just feel like you never. I also. I'm very, also a big believer in shit happens and he never just know, like what's going to come or what's going to happen.

Speaker 3:

So just be prepared.

Speaker 1:

Just be prepared Right Like Paris and I have been talking a lot about making sure to have emergency packs set up, each of us having one in our cars and in case anything happens and we need to flee.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I have like a backpack full of like medications and like papers and things like that and I'm I'm going to get my kids passport soon and just have like them in there. So you know, and there's a lot of immigration raids going on too and talk about they're going to, um, that they're going to create basically a hotline. Right, this is alleged and and we'll see if it actually happens but, um, they're talking about creating a hotline. I think they did this last time trump was in office. But or, if you think like your neighbor or somebody is like an illegal, you can basically call and report it.

Speaker 1:

That's fucked up yeah, so that's some fucked up bullshit yeah like call and report your neighbor if you think they are like trying to live here and have a better life, trash.

Speaker 3:

But people be doing it that's a mess, well, okay.

Speaker 1:

Speaker 1:

So some other big news that happened over the holiday season was um, there was a beyonce bowl. That happened on christmas day. Um, even I got stephanie to watch many days after and get some culture on what was happening on Christmas Day. Stephanie, what were your thoughts?

Speaker 3:

I, so her production is always top tier. I don't feel like I could ever say anything negative about that, like.

Speaker 1:

Absolutely.

Speaker 3:

Her, so I really liked that. It looked very clean. It looked very. The all white was very nice. It was cute that she had her daughter there, yeah, so I liked it.

Speaker 1:

Yes, I mean. I love your level of detail. Let me give you some more information.

Speaker 3:

So just, do I like her the best as a country singer? Maybe not, but that's just my opinion. But the outfits are cute. She knows how to look like a cowgirl make sure everyone looks like a cowgirl, the whole aesthetic of it. I like the dance, how everyone was coordinated, so yeah.

Speaker 1:

Thank you for sharing. I think that Beyonce is a top-tier country singer. I think she could never do any wrong. I think that she should be doing country, especially growing up in Texas and loving country music. No, all in all, I really did love the performance. I did watch it. I did try to watch it on christmas day. The audio was not that great on christmas day so, um, I actually ended up watching it again, I think, the day after um on like my ipad and we watched it like not that far after huh yeah, we watched it.

Speaker 1:

Uh, I came back on like the 27th.

Speaker 3:

I think we hung out sure, a little bit like the 29th, I think, the day after junior, oh, after was it anyway?

Speaker 1:

we, yes, actually, the day after junior's birthday, um, we hung out, we watched it, um, but yeah, I've watched it a couple of times, I might watch it again tonight. I mean, it just was fantastic. I think for me, my favorite highlights was the entire thing, um, you know it just.

Speaker 3:

I like the outfit. I love the outfit I love that Ashley's back.

Speaker 1:

I love that. I don't know that she's gonna go on tour, but I thought it was really dope that she was there to perform with her during this performance. I mean, she when Beyonce performed at Superbowl, she performed with her at the Superbowl she's her backup dancer right cause I've seen her, she was trending yeah, she's her.

Speaker 1:

she was her lead dance captain um before Amari uh took the role and became the lead dance captain um for Renaissance and you know I don't know how often she changes that out, but as far as I know you know was Ashley, then Amari when she went back on tour and then she was back for this performance Among a good amount of other new girlies in like the Texas Texas university colleges that was there performing and dancers and band mates. It was just dope. As well as you know the other black girly country singers like um uh, tanner adele, it was there um, and I just think it's just fantastic I do want to say that I liked shabuzy.

Speaker 1:

She had Shabuzy right, shabuzy was there.

Speaker 3:

yes, oh, he's a really good singer. And he has a very good country voice.

Speaker 1:

His song A Bar Song is like. I have that song playing all the time. Yes, yes, I um, he, I'm not. I've only heard a couple of other songs besides the song that he obviously has with beyonce, and um, he does have good music yeah um, I've heard uh tana do uh tana tanner adele's uh music as well, and she does have other good music too.

Speaker 3:

Um, I also didn't know shabuzy was like black, honestly like I, because I just listened to his music, so I didn't really like him up yeah, like I didn't look him up or anything. So I just I don't know, like I don't know. I mean you think country and you think like, even though I know that's not, that's what society has like painted, because I know Texas does have a lot of black and like country singers, you know all over, but um, but your statement is valid, though, like this is.

Speaker 1:

This is the whole point of all of this is that country music was not originated in the white community. It was originated in the black community, and now people in the of the white culture and in the white community has taken it over and made it into something that's supposed to be that they believe is theirs. But that's not been true, um, which has been the whole point of her of this era, right, and also because she does love country music. But um, even thinking about, um, what's that little boy named post malone and um him doing? You know, so-called country music, and he am singing on a song with her. So you know, that's the point of all of it is just what you said Like, when you think of country, you think of white.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I will. So yeah, after once I saw the the Beyonce bowl or whatever it was called.

Speaker 4:

Is that what it was called? Ok, yeah, so when she's going to, be be in the beehive, no time in no time.

Speaker 3:

I'm working on her he's planting the seeds I'm planting the seeds once I saw that, um, I was like, oh my god, he's black. And then, um, my mom's like yeah, like my mom, because my mom likes country she loves country she loves it. So she like, she's like, yeah, he sings this and that, and I was like, oh, that's cute and his music is good yeah, yeah, um, there's only.

Speaker 1:

There's one other like country artist that I like. I don't go to lit, I mean I do listen to country now because yeah. But Because.

Speaker 3:

Beyonce does.

Speaker 1:

Beyonce does. It's so funny. Okay, wait before I continue. So Paris the other night was like so the girl you worship? And I was like who do I worship? He's like you know, you worship Beyonce. I was like I don't worship her, I do love her. I've also grown up with this woman, like I've listened to Destiny's Child.

Speaker 3:

You idolize her.

Speaker 1:

Do I idolize her? What does idolize mean? Let me go.

Speaker 3:

Okay, so while you do that, I will say that growing up because now I don't listen to much country, but like growing up you know my mom's always like country, so like I would listen to like garth brooks and I would listen to um tim mcgraw, um bricks and done like I. So I know like the songs and everything like that, but I feel like now like country's making, like a a comeback yeah, like new, a lot of new artists and stuff like that jelly rolls pretty cool too is that the?

Speaker 1:

that's the big guy.

Speaker 3:

The big tattoo guy. Yeah, yes, I like his music Like a big Post Malone.

Speaker 1:

Yes. His music is good. I do like him. Yeah. I guess I do idolize her. I looked at the meeting just to make sure I wasn't making shit up, so now, you can tell your husband, I don't worship her, I idolize her.

Speaker 1:

I mean that makes sense. You know what else like? I mean I will. If there's ever a time that she does something wrong, I always accept that. I've always talked openly about probably not on the show before because there's only been one album that's come out before uh, two actually that's come up before since we've been in the show.

Speaker 1:

But I'm always honest and say that it takes me a while to get used to any new music that she puts out, because I have to like listen to it yeah um, but after a while I love it, you know like so you know, I am as honest as I can be about my fandom, I guess I should say and idolization of the queen the bee, um, but I do love her I feel like I'm like that with kanye.

Speaker 3:

See, that's how I feel about Beyonce you always do this. I don't know, tell me why my son, my son, is like getting hooked on Kanye now. He always wants to listen to it and I'm like oh my gosh. I'm doing something.

Speaker 1:

I'm doing something right okay, um yeah, um tiny west yeah I mean, when's the last time he put some new music out?

Speaker 3:

his um. He released them not that long ago. Let's see when his last album yeah but I know I listened to all his, even the gospel oh, did he?

Speaker 1:

I think he did have a gospel album, didn't he? How was that exactly?

Speaker 3:

vultures 2 and vultures 1. I think he did have a gospel album, didn't he? How was that exactly? Vultures 2 and Vultures 1?

Speaker 1:

were in 2024. But I didn't listen to any of that. It don't matter.

Speaker 3:

Donda 2021. Jesus is King. Jesus is King. That is his gospel album and I actually like it. There's like a song that's trending right now all over. Let me see yeah, I just you know.

Speaker 1:

Let me look at these album covers Kanye the West.

Speaker 3:

You can go on Apple Music. I don't use Apple Music, I'm sorry. I use Apple Music.

Speaker 1:

I'm sorry. We do use Apple Music. I'm sorry. My husband purchased Spotify so I didn't have a choice but to use Spotify. Okay. We'll leave it at that.

Speaker 3:

These are the.

Speaker 1:

I'm looking at them now. So I oh, that's right Vulture's when he had his woman on that cover looking crazy. The last album I listened to was Life of Pablo.

Speaker 3:

Okay, he's been tapped out for a little while Nine years.

Speaker 1:

Oh my God, not nine years, it's nine years, one, two three Because Life of Pablo was 2016. Six albums ago, got it Yikes.

Speaker 3:

Well.

Speaker 1:

I mean, he did it. It it's his fault, acting crazy we are a little crazy falling behind that white man that's orange, I mean, you know, I just. And then, amongst other things, he needs to go get some therapy. You know we can all use a little therapy, but he needs some therapy.

Speaker 3:

Well, he puts it into a creative outlet. So it makes good music.

Speaker 1:

Anyway, um, anyway, beyonce did a fantastic job on the Beyonce bowl. Beautiful gowns, beautiful gowns, beautiful gowns. Um, you know, go run that thing up. She also got like 50 million views on this thing on Netflix. Um, I think that was like as of a week and a half ago, um, which is dope. So kudos to her.

Speaker 1:

She's always breaking records, um and that's all I gotta say uh, in other news, other things that's been going on. Y'all still are crazy on the internet. So not too much new year, new me going on. Y'all still are a hot mess out there. Love that for you. It's just a lot going on, to be honest did you wear your red underwear for New Year's? Did I wear red underwear? You know actually no, I had a nice leopard print jockstrap on.

Speaker 3:

Love that for you, friend. I wear green. She needs money at this point, you know.

Speaker 1:

I love that. Yeah, actually, my tits were out for the boys that night. I had a nice leather number on, so I had a see-through shirt on my leather biker jacket, leather pants and my leopard print shoes and leopard print jockstrap love that I was trying to get this ass taken, but it was matched yeah I wore, um, I went green and I ate my grapes, I threw my lentils.

Speaker 3:

But I was like my cousins were asking like oh, did everyone wear their red underwear? And I was like girl, I went commando like it's in God's hands this time, because I'm tired, like fuck this, I don't know what I want, what I need. I just I'm gonna just do the work and whatever happens happens.

Speaker 1:

I mean, but that's all you can do. Like you know, I did, I did make a financial plan for going into the new year. I haven't fully started following it yet because I honestly only been paid once since the new year and. I've started the remodel on my bathroom, so all my money has been going towards that.

Speaker 3:

I wasn't in the plan.

Speaker 1:

I think I did include it in the plan, actually. Oh, okay, plan, I did. I think I did include it in the plan, actually, okay, um, so what I did? Essentially, I try not to put too many restrictions on myself because I I know myself, I know that, um, there's things that I want, things that I want to do, right, so is that? Um? Anyway, I just wanted to make sure that I put it together and didn't start the new year without it, because I knew I wanted to make sure to save some money, make sure to pay off my credit card, make sure to just do some things this year, and there was no way I could do it without making sure to put some, you know, financial goals in place.

Speaker 1:

So, I did Like a plan Like a little bit of a plan, right. So it does have. It says kitchen and new bathroom front and back. It does have that included so I mean, and all of that, everything that I put in there is very doable. Uh, with you know what I make? I don't have a lot of debt, it's just that I need to just pay it yeah um, you know, so that's my I.

Speaker 1:

I really want to make sure that all that happens this year, and I put them in like check marks so I can check them off as I complete them throughout the year. So, I have 365 days to do so. There you go.

Speaker 3:

So that was one of my big things 365 days to do.

Speaker 1:

So there you go um. So that was one of my big things. And just kind of just going back to what you said, you know you can just do the best you can do. I, um, and that's really just all I'm looking to do. I know what I want to come out of the year. I know what, um, I'm trying to work towards and I'm gonna try my best.

Speaker 3:

I hear you. I hear you so.

Speaker 1:

I guess that leads into my question Are you a resolution, girly, or?

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

I'm sorry, that's not my question. If, if you are or are not a resolution girly, what prompted you to decide to do the whole new year's thing, which is the 12 grapes under the table, the lentilsils, the green underwear, red underwear and all of that?

Speaker 3:

So first question am I a New Year's resolution? I am a goal-oriented person, so I do set goals. It doesn't necessarily. I feel like I'm more realistic now. I'm not just like lose 20 pounds and do this and do that. And, like you said, I'm more realistic now. I'm not just like lose 20 pounds and like do this and do that and like, like you said, I'm a little more flexible because I feel like when I'm too like intense with myself, I'm like, ah, fuck this. Like I get like over it, like I don't like that. Um, I guess it's like the rebel in me, I guess.

Speaker 3:

But uh, so I do set goals for myself, right, like, uh, continuing to live a healthier lifestyle. So I did go to the gym, you know, most of the year, last year, but I think this year just being a little more ambitious in the gym, uh, whether that means like with weights or more cardio, like just cracking down on that, and then, um, just being like more mindful of what I consume, like cooking more, and um, like more protein and like just small changes I can make. You know, like with tortillas, like maybe get like only corn and like one. You know things like that. And then, like you said like being financially like on a budget and like finding other streams of income, and yeah, second question what prompted me to do the lentils and grapes?

Speaker 3:

Um, I uh, so the grapes is like I guess it's like for different things and I mean it's just fun, right. Like I grew up in, like my tias always were like, oh, put your red underwear and like do this and do that, you know. So it was like fun to me, you know. Like I'm not like doing it, like, oh my god, this has to happen, you know, but like if it does, it does that'd be dope. Um, but it's playful, it's fun, you know.

Speaker 1:

And then, just if, if that blessing comes through, it comes through and that'd be awesome you know I mean, but that's good, like I think, a while ago I stopped kind of looking at creating a resolution for myself, um, especially when, as I got older, I just was like putting a lot of pressure on myself to do something different or do something new sorry, guys, I did not mean to yawn. I'm a little tired, but we're gonna keep pushing through and pretend like it didn't happen. Yeah, I feel like resolutions kept putting. We're going to keep pushing through and pretend like it didn't happen.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I feel like resolutions kept putting, you know, putting restraints on myself, right, and at one point I just decided that I wasn't going to do it that anymore and I was going to be able to maneuver just through the year. You know, I want to say, at about 23, 24, I was just like fuck, all of this resolution, shit you're gonna get with it you know?

Speaker 1:

yes, because I was at that fuck it stage and I was at that point where I was starting to be like, listen, you're going to get what you get, you like it, you like it, you don't, you don't buy. Um, and then now I've just continued to be that way Um, you like what you look, you get what you get, you don't like it. And that goes for everybody as far as I'm concerned. Yeah, you know, I love you from a distance.

Speaker 3:

Right, well, it is what it is.

Speaker 1:

It is what it is, it is 1000%, and I think that everybody could benefit from. You know that direction or are kind of looking at things that way yeah, um, your life does not end, or, um, really, your life doesn't end at the end of the year. It's just that that version of you could, if you choose, to reinvent yourself at the beginning of every year. If that's what you choose to do, then that's what you choose to do. That's fine.

Speaker 1:

But and that's fun and that's fun, right, you know. But also, I think let's recognize the work that goes into making sure that you are reinventing yourself, the levels of acknowledgement that you have to make of the shit that you did previously in order to make sure that you are doing things differently. And it doesn't mean that you have to tackle all of these things in one year, which is why I was like I chose just to focus on finances this year. You know, I'm finally in a good place. I'm finally in a space where I can, you know, start doing some shit. So I'm going to start doing that.

Speaker 1:

And or, if you're like, you know, I'm finally in a place to where everything else is fine. It's just trying to get that health piece together, you know. So I'm about to start working out, I'm about to start doing this. And the third, and you know just, I think it's much easier. There's so much shit going on and as adults, we do so much. Choose one thing and focus on that. Like, let's not make these whole list of resolutions and put too much pressure on ourselves.

Speaker 3:

I agree.

Speaker 1:

Um, with that being said, we're going to take a small break and we're going to be right back and we'll see you when we come back. Speaker 1:

So to close this out, let's talk about a little horoscope. We are never, ever going to give up on talking about what's going on in the stores, in the astrology world and all the things, so I'm going to read about. You want to know about you first, or you want to know about me first?

Speaker 3:

Let's start with the Leo.

Speaker 1:

Okay. So the Leo so love and relationship wise. So 2025 romance will bring opportunities for deeper emotional connections. Leos might find themselves drawn to people who share their passions or inspire creatively drawn to people who share their passions or inspire creatively. Single Leos can meet someone significant during social events or creative pursuits. Existing relationships A focus on balance will be crucial.

Speaker 1:

If you've been prioritizing work or personal goals over your partner, this is the year that you realign. Communication is key. She's already reading me. Challenges Some tension may arise from wanting more freedom or independence. It's important to compromise and be transparent about your needs. Oh, she's reading me. This is interesting. Um work and career growth 2025 could be a breakout year for leo's professionally. Jupiter's influence make open doors to leadership role oh wow, leadership roles or creative projects. Finances Financial growth is likely, especially if you take calculated risk. Be cautious during retrograde periods when decision-making might feel clouded. Advice Lean into your natural charisma to network and collaborate. That's interesting. New partnerships could be particularly fruitful. Other insights self-care this year, focus on maintaining physical health and managing stress. A consistent self-care routine will help you stay grounded. Big opportunities Lil's may feel inspired to take a leap, whether in moving, starting a new business or pursuing a long-term goal. Trust your instincts, okay.

Speaker 1:

Big things this year.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, big thing and occasion seems to be a big thing this year.

Speaker 1:

Yeah Right, yeah, yeah yeah.

Speaker 3:

It's like what do you say? I'm fine.

Speaker 1:

I'm fine, I'm fine. Do you want to know what's? Do you want to know what's funny about that? I was doing that today at work and my colleague just kept saying you know, it's funny that we keep telling ourselves that. And I was like I, you know, I don't know what else to tell myself at this point. To be honest, I'm coming up on a year at this job fast. It's fastly approaching. I can't believe that.

Speaker 1:

I've been there almost a year and so much has happened. I've done so much, I have been a part of so much and I'm ready to take on more and to move on, move up. But I'm cautious about what I want and where I want to move to, what I want and where I want to move to. So I've been very I've been watching a lot and I've been very clear in how I make sure to move with the people that I've been associating myself with, which is important professionally, especially in the space that I'm in. That can be highly competitive, um, somehow, but it is, and also um very prestigious. So you know, anyway, all Taurus, you ready.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

All right Love and relationships. So romance. Taurus native Taurus, native no Taurus could experience a transformative year in love. Venus influence suggests a focus on intimacy and trust. Singles might meet someone through mutual friends or work connection.

Speaker 3:

Anybody you want to talk about. Not that reading my trust issue off the rip, I'm like okay um existing relationships, so stability and commitment are emphasized.

Speaker 1:

This is a great year for deepening bonds or making long-term plans like moving in together or getting married. Whoa. Moving in together or getting married, whoa it's the grapes. Let me make sure I can see you.

Speaker 3:

It's the grapes and the lentils.

Speaker 1:

Is there anybody that we're thinking about, we want to get married to, besides me? I know I'm already taken, but I know I'll make a great husband We'd be the best Will and Grace ever we would be. It's the Taurus and Leo shit. We'd be a fucking ride. We'd have some top notch shit go ahead. I mean, I guess time will tell right yes, challenges avoid being overly stubborn and Time will tell right. Yes, challenges, avoid being overly stubborn in disagreements.

Speaker 3:

I'll let that sit there for a while. Telling a Taurus not to be stubborn is like telling a leo not to like the spotlight as the light shines over me.

Speaker 1:

Um, flexibility will strengthen your relationships. Uh, work and career 2025 will bring career changes or opportunities to expand your skill set. Taurisians who have been feeling stuck to find new direction or inspiration. Finances a cautious but optimistic approach to investments will pay off. Budgeting and long-term planning will be key themes. Some advice focus on being building a solid foundation. Networking and influential people could lead to unexpected opportunities, and then other insights for self-care. Pay attention to your emotional well-being. Meditation or creative outlets could help manage stress. Big opportunities Tourists might feel drawn to beautify their surroundings, whether renovating their home or immersing themselves in art and culture. Shared themes for both of us are relationships. Both sides will need to focus on balancing independence and togetherness in their partnerships. Open communication will be a reoccurring thing, but success will require hard work and adaptability. Health, wise mind body wellness will play an important role in sustaining energy and focus throughout the year, and that is what 2025?

Speaker 3:

overall looks like for you and I Thoughts I'm here for it. Yeah, yeah, I'm here for it, yeah, I'm here for it. But I feel like I've been transforming like crazy the last five years. So fuck it, just keep doing it. It's been for the better. And beautifying my surroundings. I feel like I have been like trying to re like small things in my surroundings. I feel like I have been like trying to re like small things in my home that I feel like make it more comfortable for me and like peaceful, like my space, you know. Mm-hmm.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, being more flexible.

Speaker 1:

I think for me like that's a good one, because I'm very structured with like a schedule and like you know, so yeah, yeah, um, it's interesting because when me and Paris were talking, we didn't really finish having a check-in, but we do need to finish and we're usually pretty good at making sure we have one.

Speaker 3:

Every year.

Speaker 1:

Every year, a couple of times out of the year. We are good at communicating. We are that's good. We are good at communicating. We are that's good. Leo's, however, are sometimes not good at communicating. We feel the need to not want to provide the negative all the time, so we sometimes hold that in and hold that back and then, like always, if it gets too much, we blow up. So I think, for me, I've been working very diligently on making sure that, even if it's positive I mean even if it's negative, making sure I'm saying well, this is what affected me this year. You know how can we do this better next year? Do this better next year? Um, so, for me, what I'm thinking is just making sure that continue that conversation and, um, being honest, even when I feel like you know, I'm not trying, to start an argument I'm just being honest about what I've been feeling, baby you know.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, like not trying to people, please yes, and that's what I've.

Speaker 1:

I started working on that last year actually towards the end of last year, I was like you know, I'm just not in that place anymore, that I can do that for people, um, and I don't want to. Yeah.

Speaker 3:

Your face that you made you guys need to get a Patreon.

Speaker 1:

I don't, I'm being honest, like I just don't want to. I don't want to people, please, I don't. I'm not interested in making you feel comfortable if you're not making me feel comfortable. I'm not going to make you feel happy if I'm not happy, and I don't want this to sound like I'm going to intentionally make people feel this way or do things to make people feel this way, but I'm just not doing it. That's so draining of me and my own energy. And if you're not doing it for me, why am I sitting here, going out of my way, doing it for you?

Speaker 1:

yeah you know. So, um, that's where I'm at. Um, the other part of that is making sure that I'm doing I've had a point where I think I talked about I may not have where I feel like I lost myself into you know, my relationship and marriage and all the things that I was doing and you know trying to maneuver Right Do all the things I was doing. And you know trying to maneuver, do all the things juggling. But now I am in a different place to where I'm clear of who I am, where I'm at, what I'm doing, and I have a clear direction. But that was also during my transition coming out of my 20s into my 30s and now I'm in my mid 30s. Right.

Speaker 3:

So and you're more established in your marriage now and I'm more established in my mid-thirties Right so, um, and you're more established in your marriage now too, because you've had more years.

Speaker 1:

Yes, and in my relationship we've been together for almost seven years. This summer, right, and you know we've been doing the thanks, right. So I'm a new bitch Period. I'm not new bitch period. I'm not the same one period I got a little some quarters in my pocket yeah. I'm trying to move some things into place. You know, I'm just, I'm out here.

Speaker 3:

Very cutesy right here very much both of us like since we first met.

Speaker 1:

We're like very different both of us yeah, we are, we've done a lot and you know, I think I've said to you before um, the uh, how we've grown, how we've done a lot, how we've moved in order in the direction, in order to grow the fuck up. We've done um, but that doesn't mean it ends here no um what I want some people

Speaker 3:

to know too, is like we do the work, like like I like to read a lot of books, right, like we both journal. Like you know, I try to like go to the gym so I don't just complain or feel some type of way about you know, my myself and I have an outlet and like I feel like we, like we've done therapy. Like you know, we do these things for ourselves in order to grow, and I think that's that's dope, that we're both like that, because I feel like when you have a friend like that, you know like a best friend, that's like constantly like and accountability is like an open thing to like honesty, like I think those are good, like foundations for like a friendship, and you know, I hope everybody has somebody in their life like that, whether it's a family member, a friend, friend like, whatever you know.

Speaker 1:

I agree, everybody's not lucky, everybody doesn't have supportive family, everybody doesn't have good friends. So, you know, I think that when we talked about putting together this podcast, the idea was that we wanted to bring all of those people into this space to be able to kind of be those friends and people for be this space for those people who need additional support, additional love, love. I think it talked. We it tells, in the work that we've done, in the work that we continue to do, even then, doing this with this show, we're trying to bring in the people that just need the support. Um, you know, I think that's also why we don't I say we don't always try to focus on, um, just pop culture and celebrity shit and things that's going on like that with the world. Because just come listen, we here hanging out, two friends, you friends with us if you listening, and this is the space for the both of us, for all of us. We all friends too. So come on in to the sala and we want you to chat.

Speaker 3:

We hope everybody gets something from it too.

Speaker 1:

Whatever that is it's different for everyone.

Speaker 1:

Yes, absolutely Absolutely.
